Levine Family Dentistry

I have been a patient at Levine Family Dentistry since 2022. Even with my very short history with them, I had a really good experience with my 2 prior cleanings and decided to continue obtaining my preventive/maintenance dental care with them. Unfortunately, I am leaving my last visit with a very bad impression of this practice. I had a routine cleaning scheduled that I booked earlier this year. At the time of booking I made sure they had my insurance updated and at the time of my visit I made sure that everything with my insurance was in order for todays visit. There were never any issues brought up regarding my insurance until AFTER my cleaning was done as I am checking out. To my surprise, during check out I was told that the cost of my visit was $220 as my insurance was no longer in network. I was then told I have to pay and then they would file a claim with the insurance who then would send me a check home. I was explained by the front desk staff that I should have gotten an email in October regarding the update in insurance coverage from the practice. That email is nowhere to be found in the sea of emails from Levine dentistry including holiday wishes, retirements, reminders to floss more and office appointment confirmation. Regardless of said email, there were two other checkpoints where the practice should have updated me as the patient regarding the change in insurance network (when the appointment was made and when I checked in on the day of the visit). They also pointed out to me a tiny sign on the other end of the check in desk which states the insurances in network for 2024. I asked to speak to the practice owner who addressed my concerns right away but still charged me the cost of the cleaning and stated they would still file the claim with the insurance who then will send me a check back. I will definitely follow up on this in a few weeks. In the meantime, I will seek care somewhere else. Please beware of insurance network issues before you seek care at this practice as the staff is not forthcoming when making an appointment or even at the time check in for an appointment. Other than this issue, I have no complaints regarding their dental care. UPDATE: I received a hand written note and a check for $220 as my insurance did reimburse the practice. I hope that they take my insurance again because I would return to the practice.

Dr. Levine is very kind and personable. The office staff is very friendly and professional, which is hard to find. She doesnt do procedures that are not absolutely necessary which is more than we can say for others.
