A few months ago, a friend asked me to come tour apartments with her. The first place we checked out was Riverhouse apartments. Riverhouse apartments has a beautiful layout with a beautiful view of the water from the balcony. The staff here is super friendly and helpful.

FULL REVIEW & Not watered down. Separated by sections.
Would have renewed the lease butNeighbors: The upstairs neighbors blast their music for hours and have a running kid. I know what you are thinking, everyone plays music. They have a nice surround sound, I give them that but I feel it in my couch below everyday. I can hear every song they play and mentally it has drove me to put in a notice. One time, it was so bad that I went to my car to watch my movie. The music was just so loud and not during quiet hours. I have lived in 3 apartments in my life and this has the worst upstairs neighbors. They wake up at 530 am and Stomp everywhere they go. Whoever gets this 3rd floor apt after me will fully understand. After the running kid, JBL entertainment system, and 530 am stomping. You will get what Im saying.
Apartment: place is fine. Very spacious, expect to pay 1800-2100 on average. Its just not fair paying so much and have no peace when I come home. Sad! Really sad.
Pool: pool is really nice, very nice view however kids come there unsupervised and sometimes not peacefully. This is usually after hours and weekends but the pool is very nice and very nice view. Be on the lookout though because you will get a football thrown at you when just relaxing. Other than that. Pool is great. Dont let them fool you, it is not a heated pool. You know when its heated? Summer time. Also the pool area comes with a grill. Very nice addition.
Rooms: very spacious and can fit a king size bed easily with room to walk around. Hopefully you get a water view.
Riverview view: Best part about this place. No cons. Its great.
USPS: if you receive an email stating usps is delivering your package, you will not and I repeat YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE that package here. You have to drive to Tidewater Dr post office to retrieve it. They have gotten to know me personally for the smallest packages.
Parking : very narrow but they cant do anything about that. If you are slightly overweight or just a large person in general!! It will be hard for you getting out the car. Not even exaggerating.
Dishwasher: To be honest its a standard dishwasher, so I usually have to rewash if I use it. So be mindful of your water bill.
Trash: located conveniently in the middle of the complex. Problem: The residents are the laziest people ever. It is a trash compactor and people will set their trash outside of the compactor. You open it, toss your trash, close it and guess what compacts the trash. The residents dont want to open the door to put the trash in. I feel bad for the guy who has to pick up a mountain of Trash all the time. I mean it looks like NY sometimes.
Gate: Half gated. The other gate tends to lock up and not work. My opinion, its a terrible design and I seen it before. Its been times where people were locked in because the gate completely stopped. Had to wait for a reset. I sat from the balcony and watched others stuck on the outside trying to get in and others trying to get out. Safety violation? Absolutely. They didnt know what to do. So one side stays open because if there was a fire and the fire truck could not get inthey would have a lawsuit immediately.
Dog park: sorry but owners do not pick up after their pets. I see this lady all the time watch her dog and I mean a big dog, poop and walk out like nothing happened. This dog leaves probably hugewell you know. Nice small dog park for them to get exercise. If your dog gets sick easily, DO NOT TAKE HIM OR HER THERE.
Gym: very nice gym. Most of the equipment doesnt work lol but i mean its free.
Cox:: dont like Cox? They could care less. There contract makes you pay for internet and cable. Yep you cant even get out of it. You probably just want internet. Again too bad, they will make you pay for the cable regardless if you even pick up the cable box or not. Mine stayed in the box for 14 months and never used.
Vehicle: Keep your doors LOCKED. Had my car broken into because of that mistake. Keep your stickers up to date. They will tow.
Go for a walk: Nice neighborhood across the water.

The staff here is great! Stephanie is always on top of everything and is so helpful. She puts in our requests right away and they are taken care of that day. Would definitely recommend living here!

This is one of the nicest complexes to stay at in the Norfolk area. Very pretty scenery along the Lafayette River and only miles from the downtown district. The amenities are top shelf, i.e., a year-round heated pool, well equipped gym, clean dog park, etc.... Apartments are very spacious and come equipped with new appliances. The maintenance staff is very responsive if anything goes down. The ladies at the leasing office, Stephanie and Andrea, are very welcoming and make you feel at home at this complex. If i ever moved back to the Norfolk area, I would re-lease at this complex.
