Hampton Inn Winchester-University/Mall Area

The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly. The hotel itself was conveniently located close to everything.

In most respects, this is like every other Hampton. But the rooms! Ugh! It's the tightest hotel room. I couldn't get the car into the room to unload the luggage. I can't easily walk between the desk chair and the bed because you have to squeeze to get by. The bathroom opens into the room next to the bed instead of in the hall, and the door is a sliding barn door. This is a problem with light, sound, odor, and privacy. There is no real closet. Instead, where the window should be, a shallow hanging area is behind the curtain. Not big enough to stow luggage, and if you need something that you hung up, you must draw the curtain back, exposing the window too. Which is a problem if you have someone sleeping. I will choose another hampton next time I'm in the area. Otherwise, everything else was fine.

Conveniently situated, the hotel is a stone's throw away from local grocery stores, a variety of restaurants, and the picturesque University Park. This property is truly exceptional and comes highly recommended!
