The quality of the schooling is good but the administration side of this is very poor. It can take them up to a month to confirm the hours of apprentices who have hours earned prior to enrolling at CITC, even though the WA State Labor and Industry website clearly shows how many hours the apprentice has. This process causes the apprentice to be dispatched to an employer at a significantly lower step than what their previously earned hours would have them placed at. CITC should ammend this process to place the apprentice at the step appropriate for the hours that had previously been accepted by WA State Labor & Industries. The formal acceptance of hours should only be required at CITCs program level to determine which areas of training the apprentice needs more hours in, NOT at which payscale the apprentice should be placed.

Laziest office personnel one could hope for. Guess the studies that found that your average office worker produces approximately 3 hours of work for every 8 hours that they're at work was on point.

CITC monopolizes on the fact that they are one of the only apprenticeship programs up north. The communication of the staff is horrible, so many people giving different answers to every question. I was told they submit hours when we enrolled as a training agent, to L&I for apprentices, when in fact they do not (was told by 2 different staff members there). The classes are cancelled often when students are in the parking lot waiting for class to begin. But dont mess up anything they need from you, dont be late 1 day late on your training agent payment, they will bend you over a barrel and tact on a 10% inconvenience fee. Nothing of value is taught, my second year apprentice hasnt been taught omhs law, how a multi circuit wire works, or what continuous duty means, the admin test prep class was a joke, the list goes on. If we werent a private company Id use any other program, it feels like a complete rip off and Im sure it is. I know its just another money grab from our state and CITC takes full advantage of it. Im sure they are over staffed, making money off the backs of small companies by charging them ridiculous fees like having to pay a fee to them for a journeyman, why cant I just pay a fee for my apprentice, you know the one whos in the apprenticeship program? Eric the principal is condescending and like most staff there not helpful. You are nothing but an inconvenience when you ask him questions that have never been communicated to students or training agents. Overall if I could give zero stars I would but the one star I did give is for Nan. Nan is the only person who is helpful there.
