NW Explorations Yacht Charters and Training

We recently chartered a beautiful Grand Banks Eastbay 54 from NWE. The entire experience was terrific. We met Chris Judge 2 years ago at a Seattle boat show and he planted the seed for chartering. Each member of the staff was great to work with, including Captain Ron who spent a couple of hours familiarizing us with the boat, as well as Corporate Captain Chris Fairbanks who patiently answered all my questions (about the boat and the San Juans) in the months leading up to our trip. We had planned to sail into Victoria's Inner Harbour but the weather had other ideas. Chris suggested other destinations nearby that were completely protected from the wind! He even met us at Brentwood Bay BC to catch our lines! And from there we visited Victoria by car. We saw whales (2 pods of orcas and a humpback) plus lots of harbor porpoise, harbor seals and sea lions, did some fishing and crabbing, visited beautiful harbors (Roche, Friday Harbor, Rosario), and gorgeous islands (Sucia in the San Juans and Salt Spring Island in BC's Gulf Islands) for great hiking and stunning sunsets. Wow, what a great experience. Emo, Sarah and the rest of the in office staff are a pleasure to work with. Andrew checked us out on the boat systems in such an efficient and relaxed way. Navigator, the 42 Grand Banks is a wonderful boat, the perfect size for Just the two of us, and handled wonderfully. The San Juan Islands have so much to Explorer and are so beautiful. My only advice is don't bring too much food because the resort restaurants are fantastic.

If you are looking for a unique experience with beautiful scenery every day, and the opportunity to travel safely and confidently while navigating your own beautiful boat, this company has everything you need.  Their boats are clean and very comfortable and they travel to new and gorgeous locations every day.  You have a guide, a mechanic and a naturalist, and an all around helper, as well as the company of a small number of other travelers.  Beautiful mornings, fun evenings, short travels each day through stunning scenery, wildlife, hikes, fishing, sunsets, this kind of trip has it all.  You will make memories and friends that will last a lifetime.  Highly recommend!!
