I have worked with Brent from Bellingham Foodscapes on several projects over the last few years, and cannot recommend him enough! From our initial consultation to the continued tidbits of advice he supplies, Brent has been professional, insightful, and committed to bringing my vision to life with attention to detail and enthusiasm. I live in Sudden Valley, but still wanted to be able to garden. He set me up with planters on my deck that gets the most sun and helped me choose plants that would thrive. He advised on which plants would do best in larger garden beds vs pots, when I should plant them all, and ensured I also had plenty of native flowers to attract pollinators. When my Japanese maples needed pruning, he knew what time of year to do so, worked with my schedule to set up a time to come by, and was efficient with the pruning and cleanup. Most recently, he encouraged me to apply for the Whatcom County HIP native landscaping program. Within the bounds of that program, Brent planned and single-handedly executed a landscape design with native plants for over 1,500 square ft of my hilly property. The small, bare shrubs we planted in the fall are now leafing out, and I could not be more excited to have a combined foodscape and native landscape to enjoy for years to come. When Brent comes out to tend to our garden, we feel like it has been thoughtfully cared forand it shows. He is both artful and efficient. He has a great eye for both the beauty and health of our plants, and he goes the extra mile to meet his own high professional standards. Besides that, he is simply a very nice person.
