H&R Block

Just hand an incredibly unpleasant experience at this H&R Block with specifically Rocio Harwell. I came in today with paperwork that I thought would be enough, turns out it wasnt adequate enough for the assistant to help me, which is my fault but the way she handled the situation was very poor. I had told her Id never been to H & R Block before and she didnt gave me a smile and did not make me feel welcome or comfortable. She was not friendly at all and made me feel very stupid. When she responded to my questions she had a tone and when I asked her if it may be easier to do it by myself online since I didnt bring the correct paper work she stated I dont know your knowledge on taxes, sweetie. I found this condescending and she tried to find someone else to help me. She said that person was gone and nobody could help me so I got up to leave and before I could say Thank you she already had her back to me and was looking at her computer screen. She didnt seem like she wanted to help me in the first place and brushed me aside very quickly. I was at this location for less than 10 minutes. Absolutely horrible customer service and this interaction could have been handled very differently. Incredibly disappointed in my service with Rocio Harwell and now I have a poor first experience at H & R Block which will absolutely push me to go other places in the future.

Tax time!!!! Please be aware. We went to H&R in sunset square in Bellingham,Wa. We were getting 2021 taxes done. We left there on cloud 9 , we were getting a refund of 15,000 dollars. We were told by Anita we were getting credit for covid relief. In January or February of 2023 we received a letter from IRS stating we owed over $13,800. In back taxes. Turns out instead of covid relief she gave us flood relief. That's fine, however we live in Washington State the flood relief was for Wisconsin. H&R did refund us $6,000 plus they paid late fee and ppenalty. Now this year 2024 we had to pay federal taxes on the $6000 dollar refund. It has been a real nigtmsre. We tried several times to contact branch owner as recommended by H&R corporate and receive no answer.
