We stayed here for a weekend getaway. Splurged on a cabin, which was nice, but the property lacked privacy and views. Be prepared to hear a train horn almost hourly throughout the night, even with earplugs. The lobby was cute and had some nice snack and drink options, but we were super disappointed in the spa. It was small, overly crowded, and dirty, and the staff were short. We had day passes and were told there would be some special accommodations at check-in, but instead, the spa staff seemed inconvenienced to even tell us where to find towels. Maybe this is better as a hostel experience, but for a luxury hotel stay, I wouldnt recommend it.

Rooms: Very, very basic. The cabins are reminiscent of staying at an Ikea. Nearby activities: The river and the hikes.

Pre-check in if you want a particular bunk level. Great accommodations!!!! Ive been to many Hostels and shared sleeping environments around the world. I wish they were ALL like this! Definitely an upscale hostel! The spa experience is was good.

we stayed in the bunk rooms with their common area by far the best lodging in the place. the microwaves and fridges were a plus as well as the free coffee in the morning. the staff did their best to manage the properties overly complex room and "pool" reservations. i will not be returning for multiple reasons including being charged for this stay 1 week in advance of our arrival. we were a party of 3 and wanted the bill split into 3. not possible they said as my card had already been billed for the stay when we arrived for check in. the "pools" were merely large built in hot tubs, they were tiny!!! the hot and warm spa pools were reeking of chlorine and my skin was so dry after just the first soak. another reason i will not be returning. there were not that many people there so why go thru the gyrations of reserving time in the pools? totally not worth the effort. again i will not be returning. the resort proximity to the railroad tracks and whistling trains sucks for sleeping. the resort mentions this but does not say how many trains. it was all day and all night. do yourself a favor and book a bunk or room up the hill at the white salmon inn. Rooms: rooms are scandi minimalist, some of the larger room we looked in did not even have a bedside table for a glass of water. Nearby activities: the gorge is full of great outdoor views and activities. Food & drinks: it was nice to have the cafe with snacks and bar for drinks if you want.

I didn't know I could relax this much. The super facilities and staff ensure a relaxing experience. Cycling between the sauna, pools and cold plunge left me speechless. Only bummer can be other guests being inconsiderate - I believe it is so rare for people in the states to enjoy an experience like this that some can't stop talking about how great the experience is. Please consider keeping the live social media commentary to a minimum. The quiet adds to the experience and allows for uninterrupted meditation - folks are here for different reasons and it can be rare for some to get these opportunities these days, so help your fellow folks by keeping the volume to medium roar. Don't forget there is plenty of time to talk on the long drive home!

Hello Natalie, Thank you for sharing your feedback about our hotel and for taking the time to write a review. I’m happy to hear you enjoyed spending time in our Lobby,, we too think it’s a cozy spot to enjoy a little something from our Cafe. I'm sorry to hear that you didn't find the hotel to be a good value, though unlike most hotels, we do offer different types of rooms- bunks, shared baths, and cabins. Our aim is to provide a unique and welcoming home away from home for our guests, however, we do not consider ourselves a luxury hotel. We are tucked in a neighborhood, so while we cannot offer unobstructed views of the river, we have the Washington hills as our backdrop and peekaboo views of the Gorge from our Cabins. We are a bit different than the average hotel. Our owners value the thoughtful preservation of historic buildings, environmentally friendly construction, beautiful architecture and the surrounding natural beauty of the Gorge. You can see how those values shaped the design of the property. The hotel is in a vibrant transportation corridor and the train whistles are sometimes loud. We've been working with the City of Bingen and the WA state legislature to get funding to install a quiet zone. The city has secured the funding for rail crossing improvements and we expect to have the quiet zone in place in late 2025, benefitting the whole region! We thank you for your feedback and will be reaching out to you directly to discuss your experience in the Spa. Our mission is to provide a welcoming and serene environment for our guests in the Spa and it seems we missed the mark here. I will be reaching out directly to learn more about your experience, and how we can improve.Safe travels, Kerri

Hello Camila, Thank you for sharing your feedback about our hotel and for taking the time to write a review. Our Cabins are designed with minimalism in mind and we aim to provide you with everything you need and nothing you don’t - we can see how that would remind one of Ikea. One of our design principles is to provide spaces throughout the property for people to connect, like our historic Gymnasium, the Lobby, Spa, our Sanctuary and our fire pits. Our hope is that our guests are out exploring the nearby hikes and the river and spending time in the rooms to recharge from their adventures. We hope you enjoyed your adventures during your stay!
