I am in charge of planning a retreat for my office at Cascadia College, and we voted on doing a cooking class for our team-building part of the all-day retreat. Kris made it very easy to book a class, based on what we wanted to cook, and how many people we had, which was 14. Since it is a small cafe, it was closed down to the public just for us to have our private cooking class, which was lovely. We got 100% the attention of Kris when it came to learning how to roll and fold our Chinese and Korean-style dumplings together. Then, he and his wife cooked all the dumplings, steamed and fried, and we got to eat over 80 dumplings that we created ourselves! Kris was very patient with those of us who had never made dumplings before (like myself) and let me practice making so many, doing it along side of me so that I understand. I finally got the hang of one of the harder folds, and I felt very accomplished! I would highly recommend using the Hodge Podge Cafe (A Global Kitchen) for small office retreats, or small parties and celebrations. It's a great place to learn how to cook a variety of cuisines, and soon I will have to return to try the food at the cafe!
