Kirkland Cooperative Preschool

UPDATE: Now that both my kids have officially moved on to elementary school I miss KCP. I wrote this review five years ago and it still stands true. Kirkland Co-Op Preschool has been an ideal experience for my family. It offers everything I was looking for in a preschool - great location, budget friendly tuition, play-based learning with real world application and high parent involvement. I highly recommend KCP!

Very run down, dirty, and homeless people living in the parking lot? I was very shocked to see how neglected this school is. The kids deserve better, they deserve a safe clean environment which isn't what they're getting here. Really sad.

My family is so fortunate to have found Kirkland Cooperative Preschool! My children love the teachers and program. I love the community and the parent education. At KCP I have been able to be an active part of my children's early childhood educational experience.

We choose KCP because it was important for us that our kid would start and finish the year with the same teacher, something the other schools we visited couldn't promise. Teachers here have been teaching their class for years, it's really nice to see older siblings meeting the teachers again occasionally.The school is priced wise. And they make sure the parents' involvement is fair to all the families, being flexible when it's needed. But our first year at KCP was 2019-2020: we stopped having classes at school in March, until the end of the school year. Immediately, classes moved online (yes, for kids as young as 3). We didn't miss a single class. Teachers would send curriculum for the parents to work at home if desired, and would make fun, educative but, most important, social virtual classes: they put priority in the interaction of kids with them and between the students. The board of the school came with options to make sure every family in this school is supported by this community based institution.Parents had extra parents meeting where teachers would provide more resources for this very unusual time.This school is not only a place for your kid to learn, it's also an amazing place to build a community.I've spoken with friends with kids all ages, and I have to say that the support and resources KCP had during this crisis proved us right when choosing this school for our kids.

We moved to Wa state a year ago and needed to find a preschool for my youngest. I am sooo happy I found KCP. My youngest is learning so much! Price wise you can't beat it. As a parent of a co-op preschool you are required to work once a week and attend monthly meetings, but I wouldn't go back to a traditional preschool. My little one has one more year of preschool before she starts kindergarten and I immediately signed her up again. I have no regrets putting her into this preschool. WE LOVE KCP!
