We did not see anyone on this trail. Be cautious to download the map. The trail is not broken in well, so it may be a bit confusing at times. Black flies were horrible...be prepared. The vista of the Spokane River was beautiful.

Dog-friendliness: Nice place for a dog run. Recent forestry work allows good visibility.

Update a year later: They logged it! Devastating. Nice BS sign about how that's good. What does the word "conservation" in the name and purpose of this place mean to the decision makers? Dollars through exploitation I guess.I discovered several rare birds here and fear their habitat may be ruined. Original review: Great solitude while hiking but getting to views of the river is difficult. Also I was concerned about how many trees were marked with orange paint. Is logging giving to be permitted in this conservation area?

It's always nice to be out in nature, and there are parts on the route that you can see the river from above, which is nice. But it is basically just a lot of pine trees, at least in mid March. Nothing wrong with that, but not particularly stimulating. And the paths aren't marked so there will be times you are off-trail, so make sure your shoes are good enough to go through pinecones and twigs. Very flat. No restrooms. Playground: No playground Restrooms: No restrooms Dog-friendliness: On leash Picnic area: Not really a good picnic spot to lay out a blanket, because it's just dirt and rocks covered in pinecones.
