Budd Bay has been doing numerous tax returns for years for my family. As my dads personal accountant, I decided to have Budd Bay do my dads estate tax return after he died in 2022. I am thrilled with Budd Bay Accountants' Gary Merz and his staff.  I used to hate tax season and procrastinated to avoid the headache of filing them.  Now, I just gather up my documents and provided them to Budd Bay and in no time I have an accurate, professional return without all the headaches.Their office is very welcoming and fun to visit when Henri the bulldog is on duty.  Friendliness comes with their professionalism.I really appreciated Gary's patience dealing with my ignorance of tax codes.  I appreciated his willingness to answer all my questions and provide suggestions to reduce my tax liabilities.I am "technology challenged".  The staff at Budd Bay patiently walked me through the proper steps without judgment.I would like to thank them for making tax season headache free.

Avoid this firm. My excellent former CPA retired and sold accounts to this firm. The first year Budd Bay did my return, I owed an eye-popping $10K to IRS. I don't know if it's true, but they e-filed it before I could ask for an explanation. The next year I casually enquired about a tax strategy my friend used and (owner) Gary Merz snapped "Well, have HIM prepare your taxes!" Then he tore a page out of my tax return I just paid for. Totally unprofessional outfit.

Gary has been doing our taxes for several years, and we've been very happy with the service. He and his staff have always been professional, answering our questions, and providing advice.

My husband and I met with Gary to consult about our taxes. We thought we had made a mistake in the previous year. Gary spent over an hour with us. He reviewed all of our information and took his time explaining everything. His knowledge and understanding was impressive! I felt so confident and safe. Finances can be so intimidating and overwhelming. Gary made it an easy and worry-free experience.
