i went there so good we got food sleep but my friends cabin they got no sleep . good for the kent school district. and i am a fith grade

It is absolutely beautiful this time of the year. The organization I work at rented the facility for the day. For us, we had provided for us a meal, a chance to zipline, and their community room for 8 hours. There are cabins here, a lake with a water obstacle course, disc golf... and more. The food was kosher and delicious. There were cookies, chips, burgers and dogs, pasta salad, salad... all provided by them. 10/10 would eat again. The staff were friendly, helpful, and great hosts.

Place is beautiful and so peaceful. I love working here. Staff are friendly and great. And I love it when the summer bustle is in full swing with all the campers.

I dont know if they change the staff there every time but I just came back from there yesterday February 15, I am the mom of a girl from fith grade, I went as a chaperone from Emerald Park Elementary school in Kent & Im gonna say what I liked but also what I did not like. Everything was ok and everyone was nice specially the teachers, the other chaperones(parents) my cabin mentor, the kitchen staff, the activities staff and SPECIALLY THE ONLY GUY WITH THEM WHO WAS REALLY NICE WITH ME SINCE THE VERY BEGINNING, I got there a little late because I got lost and he was the first one I saw, HE EVEN HELPED ME CARRY MY HEAVY BAG ALL THE WAY TO THE CABIN WHERE I WAS GONNA STAY, I WAS SO THANKFUL FOR THAT since I have carpal tunnel sndrome on both hands and is hard for me to carry anything heavy, AnywaysEveryone was nice EXCEPT my cabin manager where I stayed, I noticed she would smile & was really nice to everyone else but when she saw me she either ignored me or changed her smile face right away, Ironically she was being that nice only with white people because another African mom who was there as a mentor too said she did the same thing to her.(RACISM I CALL IT & THAT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE AT ALL SPECIALLY WHEN YOURE WORKING IN A PLACE LIKE THAT. The other thing I didnt like is that the second day early in the morning while an activity about plants with the kids in a room right next to the dining room ONE OF THE YOUNG MENTORS(girl) WAS NOT REALLY NICE WITH TWO KIDS JUST BECAUSE THEY SAT DOWN IN A CHAIR TO WORK OR DISCUSS SOMETHING ABOUT THE ACTIVITY, I was not close enough to hear what the kids were saying but I heard what the mentor said: So, by sitting down??? TO ME ALL MENTORS ARE TOO YOUNG AND NOT ALL OF THEM HAVE THE PATIENCE TO DEAL WITH KIDS, BECAUSE THEYRE ALSO KIDS. The youngest one I think was only 14 THE LAST THING, THE WORST AND SOMETHING AS A MOM I DO NOT APROVE, WAS: THAT IN THE ROOSTER ROOM(campfire)THE SEDOND DAY, FEBRUARY 14, YES VALENTINES DAY, A WOMAN FROM THE STAFF ACTIVITIES WAS SAYING OR READING SOMETHING AND EVERYONE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE QUIET BUT SHE HEARD TWO OF THE GIRLS TALKING QUIETLY AND RIGHT NEXT TO THEM WAS MY DAUGHTER WHO WAS NOT TALKING, THAT WOMAN WAS SOOO LUCKY MY CHILD WAS NOT INVOLVED. I am Mexican and no one besides my husband or me(sometimes not even my husband) NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO TALK TO MY DAUGHTER THAT WAY. Because no matter what SHE DOES NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO TALK TO SOMEONE ELSES KID THAT WAY. BECAUSE IF YOURE GONNA BE OR WANT TO BE WORKING AROUND KIDS, THEN YOU MUST HAVE THE PATIENCE TO DEAL WITH KIDS, PERIOD. As I was saying: SHE CAME REALLY CLOSE TO THEM, POINT HER FINGER AT THEM AND SAID ALMOST IN THEIR FACES: YOU TWO ARE GOING TO LISTEN!!! THE GIRLS WERE LIKE SCARED AND EMBARRASSED TOO OF COURSE My child knows she has to respect everyone and follow the rules but even if she makes a mistake like that youre gonna come to her in a decent distance and youre gonna ask her to behave or be quiet in a VERY DIFFERENT WAY. Thank you! Now, Im not gonna lie or exaggerate anything, I dont know her name because I never got that close to any of them to read all their names let alone memorize them but she was someone with glasses, hair to mid-back always down, someone who also seems to be nice and gives lectures about being nice, thankful, respectful and bla bla blaThe point is: YOU NEVER EVER! TALK TO SOMEONE ELSES KID THAT WAY. A couple of them even looked bad at us the adults if we kept talking quietly sometimes without noticing that they were already talking, its like they dont want any interruptions at all from anybody, way too strict. If youre reading this, sorry for such a long comment but I had to say it. At my daughters school they were gonna cancel the camping if they didnt have enough chaperones, thats why I decided to register as one and once there I was watching everything and everyone because I know things happen when parents are not present & thats the main reason I DID NOT WANT TO LET MY CHILD GO BY HERSELF. PARENTS PLEASEBE CHAPERONES
