Ive been living in the building next to the Olympia Ballroom for six months and it has been a massive source of disturbance. At least once a month they host private musical events that are so loud that the sound bleeds into my apartment and I can feel the bass through my floorboards. These events typically go until late in the night; at one point I counted twelve consecutive hours of excessively loud music that continued until 1 in the morning. Despite an agreement between my buildings manager and the manager of the Ballroom not to do so, whoever is in charge of these events opens their windows, further exacerbating the sound pollution. This is highly disruptive, not to mention a complete violation of privacy and my right to peaceful enjoyment. I am not the only one affected by this, as this particular section of downtown is dense with residential units. The building I live in and the building that houses the Ballroom alone contain over 70 apartments combined. There are more people living on this block per square foot than any other area in Thurston County. Sound pollution is a serious problem that has lasting effects. Until the Ballrooms management chooses to do right by their neighbors and community, I must give them a one star review. EDIT: Thanks for the response. The loudest events that occur at the Ballroom have NOTHING to do with the local music scene or up and coming artists. No musician in this area is blasting Miley Cyrus's "Party in the USA" and yelling "brrap brrap brrap" into the microphone and none of them are paying $100 an hour to play music in your venue. Please don't insult the Olympia music scene by claiming that.
