SSBT has been fantastic to work with. Our therapist was amazing and connected with our son in ways we never imagined. She was also a pretty great teacher to us (his parents) and gave us tools we never had before to improve communications for my son and between us and him. Additionally, all of the staff at SSBT, from the supervisors, to the admin staff, all the way up to Jennica the owner, were very knowledgeable, courteous and responsive. We had to leave SSBT because we moved out of State but had we not, we would have stayed with them as long as possible.

GREAT IN-HOME ABA EXPERIENCE! VERY COMPASSIONATE AND EXPERT TEAM! Jennica Warner and her team at South Sound Behavior Therapy are super phenomenal. I have a nonverbal autistic daughter and after my family and I moved from Texas to DuPont, Washington, we engaged the services of South Sound Behavior Therapy in a home environment. They were very thorough in their initial assessment and made sure to select a group of therapists who were best suited to my daughter’s needs. In my opinion, the highlight of our wonderful experience was when Jennica recommended Sign Language for my daughter. Prior to that, she had been using Proloquo2Go, a symbol based Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) app to communicate. Stephanie, my daughter's SSBT therapist was well versed with AAC apps and took the initiative to learn Sign Language so that she could teach my daughter. Our experience with Suzio, another of the SSBT therapist was great also. During my daughter’s 1 year with SSBT, she learned how to dress herself without assistance, brush her teeth on a consistent basis and use sign language. Had we not moved out of state, we would still be with SSBT. We love SSBT. Chidi Kamalu

RUN! My son was enrolled in this center by his father without my consent. I called the center before my child arrived to let them know I needed to discuss his care plan and goals with the BCBA and was told they would give me a call. I let them know at that time that I had not given my consent for him to receive treatment and neither his father nor I have the authority to make non emergency medical decisions alone. When they didn’t call me back before my son arrived, I called them back again informing them that I need to speak with his BCBA and discuss the plan and goals before he receives treatment. I was told my son was already in session and would be all day 9 am to 4:50 pm and the BCBA would try to call me after my son already received treatment. I told them I was concerned about the use of discipline in their facility and that they discourage stemming and that I am not comfortable with these tactics and was told again they would reach out after my sons therapy was already completed for the day. With a therapy that can cause lasting damage to a special needs child the complete lack of concern for consent and dismissive attitude is deeply worrying. I later gave them consent to do the assessments and Elisa was very helpful going over the plan and goals for my son. I did ultimately decide I was not comfortable with him receiving treatment and let them know they do not have my consent. They have continued to treat him anyway resulting in me having to file complaints with the BBB who they are not accredited with, the Washington Board of Health, and CPS. Also the director when speaking to me was far more concerned with the bad review I had posted and the health of her business than my son’s care and wellbeing. She even went so far as to ask me how it was going to look in my custody case if I don’t let them treat him ( because apparently uninformed consent would be better). They are extremely unprofessional and care more about their bottom line than the children and families they serve.

If we could give SSBT more than a five star we would. I truly enjoy the staff there and what our 4 years old son has learned in such a short period of time. It feels like he had been there longer and it hasn't even been 6 months yet. He started ABA therapy at first elsewhere at 3 years old. We switched over to SSBT and in just the first month or two our son has learned so much and has picked up quickly. We have even seen him apply what he has learned at SSBT at home without any prompts. Also, compared to the other ABA clinic he was in before, SSBT does things a bit different, in a good way. The fact that every staff member receives the same training from outside resources that are very knowledgeable about ASD, what works, what doesn't work and statistics is awesome. Although everyone is on the same accord with their training even if they have practiced somewhere else, they tailor each individual child's therapy. I love how they easily introduced our son to a new environment prior to jumping right in to starting his therapy. The setting and atmosphere is almost like a school setting and so it's not just them sitting for three hours straight of repeated intensive therapy but they also get to play and engage with the other children. We also are able to receive parent training too. It helps teach us what they are teaching our son so we can also apply it at home. I can't forget to mention his Behavioral Technician. She is amazing with our son. He is comfortable with her which makes us even more comfortable with her. Because of his improvement we are confident about SSBT and what more they have in store for our son. We would not want it any other way. The plus about this is that they also get involved with his school and IEP plan. It definitely helps to keep everyone in the loop and being on the same page so that our son has consistency. We also get to sit down and meet with the staff members in regards to what our son has learned, mastered, needs a little more work on and what they will be teaching him next. They want to make sure that we are happy and comfortable with their services and so they ask us if there is anything in addition we want to add to his therapy plan. THEY CARE ABOUT OUR INPUT AND FEEDBACK. How awesome is that?! They are like our second family and we all work together as a team to make sure our son is improving and mastering the skills taught so it can be applied to his everyday life. Another plus about this place.... they have a feeding program for our picky eaters. Our son has not started that program yet but I look forward to that in the near future. Thanks to SSBT, our son's teacher at school has told us how far he has come and that they see huge improvement. Even other family members see a change. There is still more work to do and we are excited to go through this journey with our son as he grows. I am thankful for SSBT and would recommend them to anyone who is seeking a good ABA therapy clinic for their child(ren).

SSBT changed our lives. We have 2 children on the autism spectrum. When we started they were 4 and 3 years old. I say "we", because they have taught us (mom and dad) as well as our children. Our children LOVE their BTs (Behavior Technicians are the "tutors" that come into our home 5 days a week) as well as Jennica and her ABCBAs. A lot of time was spent "pairing" with our kids from the very first day SSBT was in our home. That has made for beautiful and solid relationships between BTs and our family. Our children are challenged and work hard for their BTs and they get valuable feedback in return (and some treats & rewards!). As a parent, there is nothing that means more to me than my children. ABA is hard work for our entire family. But SSBT gives me the tools to be a better parent to my kids through guidance and coaching on the techniques they use with our kids. And it gives my kids the tools they need to better navigate their world. I cannot recommend SSBT enough or sing their praise highly enough.
