I witness 2 cases of neglect and abuse of residents, and a manager being verbally abusive to kitchen staff. 3rd abuse situation all in one day. I had already reported the other two abuse/neglect cases to the Director manager by a CNA in which the manager replied oh I have worked with her in other nursing homes and The CNA is just that way I was verbally abused by the CNA as a guest. I told the Director of Nursing May 2023 and I know those staff remain. What does this tell you about this place? Yes I hope a lot about what they allow and do not handle. God bless the patients here and the many who complained to me as a bystander about conditions. They are understaffed and managers do not care and are very disconnected.

My father went there for post-stroke rehab. He had lost the use of his right side during his stroke. One evening after he had been there a while we got a call from the night charge nurse telling us that my father's leg was broken. We went there and saw that he had been packed into the bed with pillows, and there was a sign above him saying not to move him. He had been given so much narcotic pain medication he was unresponsive. His leg was badly broken and he was taken to the hospital. When they were setting his leg they noticed a huge, black pressure sore just above his tailbone (I saw it when he was at the hospital...it was hideously bad), and they told us it might cause an infection elsewhere in his body and to have it monitored. He was returned to Mother Joseph Care Center as there were no alternatives at the time (heartbreaking for us).Two nights later he was transported to the emergency room with pneumonia attributed to infection from the pressure sore. Long story short, he died a week later. The staff member(s) who were responsible for his broken leg were never identified, and the day charge nurse who would have been responsible for doping him up (locked meds cabinet) was "punished" by being transferred to the Alzheimer's wing at Mother Joseph Care Center. One of the staff actually suggested my father broke his leg by "moving around in the bed too much"! No accountability whatsoever. Please do your research, talk to family members as well as staff. And beware of this place.

My father came here for rehab after breaking his hip. They did nothing for him other then having him ride a recumbent bike 20 minutes a day. He was completely incontinent and never told our family when he was released to go home. He was better off getting the PT at the hospital. Very poor communication with the families of the loved ones there. My father was in worse shape when he left this place. Food was bad too!
