Ben and Beth's 101/103 class is such a lovely way to learn the complexities of sailing aboard their incredibly beautiful boat. Their passion for the sport is sincere and contagious. We spent 5 days with them and our fellow classmates and left with new friends and a feeling of confidence and connection to sailing that is truly priceless. Icing on the cake was Beth's cooking - she catered the menu specifically to our preferences and made an effort to include the local treasures from every port. I'd give the 6 starts if I could.

We just completed our Intermediate Sailing ASA certification during an amazing 4-day sailing adventure cruise with Ben from Sail Olympia. Everything about it was just fantastic. The boat was in amazing condition, the food was out of this world, company was fantastic, teaching was so well done we could not have asked for anything better. Thank you so much!

I did the 101/103 trip with Ben and Beth. I will be taking all my further sailing classes here. It felt more like a vacation with friends then a class, and after this trip I would feel comfortable driving a sail boat with some friends. They are extremely knowledgeable, and explain everything clearly. Over the trip we visited some beautiful state parks, were we walked around and chatted. Stopped at a port with some great restaurants and bars. Beth was an awesome cook. I did not think that boat food would taste as good as a home cooked meal. They will work with your dietary restrictions, so you don't have to worry about going hungry.

It was an absolute pleasure learning how to sail with Sail Olympia. Several friends and I (all new to sailing) completed the ASA 101/103 course with Ben and Beth as our friendly instructors. We spent 5 days/4 nights comfortably traveling around the Puget Sound on their beautiful sailboat while safely learning all of the ASA101/103 requirements. Ben and Beth's enthusiasm for sailing, teaching style, and incredible hospitality made taking the practical not stressful and the entire experience very enjoyable. There was plenty of time to learn skills at our own pace as well as relax and enjoy the ride. Highlights of the trip include: good company, seeing porpoises and seals, exploring state parks, and eating lots of delicious food. I recommend Sail Olympia to anyone wanting to get more sailing experience, especially if they are interested in getting any of the ASA certifications.

A group of 4 of us booked a "Beginning Couples" sailing trip with Beth & Ben at Sail Olympia. It was easily one of the best vacations we have had - toss in the training and certification and the trip was absolutely perfect. Their teaching style on the boat is so natural that at no point did I really feel like I was in an "instruction" environment. They organically covered all of the 101 and 103 topics over the course of the week. Prior to the trip no one in our group had any sailing experience, and only limited power boat experience. By the end of the trip, everyone in our group was comfortable with navigating, operating the sails, docking and departing, and generally running the boat. We are all super eager to get back out on the water as soon as possible. In addition to their instruction Ben & Beth are wonderful hosts and we felt instantly at home - staying up late into the night sharing stories of adventures past. We will be recommending Sail Olympia to anyone who will listen as the best way to get into this sport, or just a great way to spend a week off away from the world.
