24 hour Self Service. Package mailing and buying stamps.

I have had my mail delivered by workers from this office for 25 years. Their quality of service has deteriorated for the past 6 years (for me, at least). They have frequently mixed up my mail other peoples mail (they have lost whole packages and envelopes with items and forms that were important to me for work and on a personal level. I will never know - even with the online informed delivery service - if or when I will get a letter addressed to me because now someone else will have to decide to send it back in the mail, track me down to deliver it, or just not care to do anything so theyll keep it or trash it). They have people who sort out the mail for delivery, if a mix-up happens once or twice every few years, then so be it. This has been a weekly pattern for years, and one that they need to fix. Their drivers are too lazy to follow delivery instructions because they will mark a package with a required signature as undelivered because no authorized recipient was available on days when I waited by the door for them to knock. They never knock, they just default to the pink slip. If you have the time to pull up to my driveway, fill out the slip, scan it on your end, leave it on my door, and drive away, you have the time to knock once or twice. And when I select that they re-deliver it in person to me, theyll leave it in the mailbox and mark online that they delivered it to me in person - you could not be farther from the truth. When I do have to come here, their counters are understaffed with at most two employees (it used to be three) servicing people. The lines fill up fast, and depending on who is working as a clerk at the counter, you will be forced to wait upwards of 20-40 minutes because the ones who I regularly see are unmotivated, arrogant, and not at all able to call themselves someone who deals with customer service. Their phone skills are terrible, I have had phone calls where I was put on hold for 20 minutes at a time and the call ended up dropping, and when I called again to ask for timely service, they hung up the phone. Absolutely disrespectful and unjustified. They are not capable of receiving feedback because I have filled out complaint form after complaint form to their administration, filled out online feedback forms, and have mentioned feedback to their workers in a kind manner. After all of that, they have not improved. If I wasnt stuck with them as the sole government mail service, I would ditch them in a heartbeat. You can go to other places as much as you want to limit your interactions this office, but your day-to-day mail will still get mishandled or lost by them without a care in the world. I would change my mind about them in the future if they made real changes (like culling their terrible workers) and actually bothered to care, but as of now, I am convinced that will not happen. They are not a competent office that deserves to call themselves a postal service.
