Village Learning Child Care

My daughter has attended Village Learning for 2 years (pre-school & kindergarten) & summer camps. Before that we tried a different childcare, which did not work well for us. Due to her separation anxiety she cried continuously while there. After 1 week she was so traumatized that even at home she could not bare to lose sight of us, so we had to take her out of the childcare. When starting Village Learning we were expecting a somewhat similarly difficult transition period. It came as a great surprise that she didn't shed a tear on either the first or the following days. Ms Melodie's ability to connect with the children is truly magical. There are too many wonderful things to say about this place. The great outdoor space full of fun activities for the children (tree house, performance stage, swings, sand box, garden, bunnies, chickens, horses, etc.) and the ample time they spend outside both learning and just playing / having fun. The perfect balance between the various learning activities (reading, circle time, crafting, etc) and free play. The strong educational program due to which I think we were well prepared for the following 1st grade. But most of all I am grateful for the genuine love and care that Ms. Melodie has for the children, and for intertwining the same message of love, empathy and kindness in all of her teaching.

We have been at Village Learning for 1 year now and have signed up for summer camp as well as year 2. The teachers are amazing and the program offers so much more than school learning. This is a nature based school so kids are outside a lot. The curriculum includes pre school and pre k. My favorite thing about this school is watching my son run from my car to the door and greet his teachers with a big smile. The teachers genuinely care about the kids and truly care about teaching. We are very happy to be here!

Village Learning is our home away from home. My 4YO and 3YO are both attending full-time and are always coming home sharing stories of the day, their friends, what they sing, read and learn with Ms. Melodie and her staff. They practice by doing which I really appreciate. They love being outdoors in Ms. Melodie's beautiful yards and it adds such a special touch of WA to be in the middle of the tall pine trees with horses, chickens and rabbits! I highly recommend Village Learning to any parent/child!!

Village Learning Childcare is nothing short of magical for children! Both our daughters are fortunate enough to have attended and the love that Ms. Melodie has for the children is evident in every aspect of this program. There is an expanse play area that includes a tree fort, swings, stage, chickens and a garden. Children also help care for the horses and rabbits. Inside the house is every childs dream with toys and educational materials that focus on imaginative play. When the pandemic started, Melodie pivoted her programming to accommodate a return of our then kindergartner and proceeded to homeschool her for first grade. As a result, our daughter was able to enjoy all the benefits of being at Village Learning for an additional year and she was more than prepared to return to second grade for in person learning. The programs focus on empathy, kindness and a gentle way of being in the world is evident in both our children who are kind, compassionate, articulate and ahead of peers academically and emotionally. I cannot recommend Village Learning Childcare enough, it is truly exceptional!

My 4YO has been attending Village Learning for over a year and my 3YO just started over the summer this past year. Both of the children LOVE Ms. Melodie and her staff. They demonstrate such compassion and care for our kids which means so much in addition to the educational factor. My kids learn so much by doing AND traditional learning. They love playing outdoors, caring for Ms. Melodie's horses, chickens and bunnies, and they really love putting on performances on stage. I couldn't ask for a better environment that my husband and I both trust the kids are safe in. The children are also so kind, curious and eager to learn! I had the privilege of shadowing the kids on the first day of school, and Ms. Melodie has a very peaceful circle time consisting of reading, sound recognition with various instruments, and developing mental fitness using techniques grounded from MindUP (Goldie Hawn Foundation). I love the application of learning from all facets of life at Village Learning. I highly recommend Village Learning for parents who are looking for a great educational environment with real world application!!
