I recently engaged JAMS for arbitration, hoping for a fair and impartial resolution to my dispute. Unfortunately, my experience with Judge William Downing (Ret.) assigned to my case was anything but satisfactory. From the outset, it was clear that Judge Downing had a predetermined bias that heavily favored the opposing party. Despite presenting compelling evidence and arguments to support my case, Judge Downing consistently disregarded my points while readily accepting the flimsiest of assertions from the other side. Not only did Judge Downing fail to maintain neutrality, but his demeanor throughout the proceedings was unprofessional and dismissive. He exhibited a blatant disregard for the principles of fairness and justice, leaving me feeling marginalized and disrespected throughout the arbitration process. In the end, the arbitration yielded an outcome that was grossly unjust and heavily skewed in favor of the opposing party, thanks to Judge Downings blatant bias and incompetence. I would strongly advise anyone considering arbitration through JAMS to proceed with caution and carefully vet the arbitrator assigned to their case. My experience serves as a cautionary tale against entrusting your dispute resolution to an arbitrator who lacks the basic integrity and impartiality required for fair arbitration.
