Cedar House Montessori

We are so grateful that our son got to spend 3 years of preschool with teachers Merrill, Juli & Jon. Finding a preschool that provided teacher consistency and significant free choice & outdoor time were our top priorities and Cedar House gave us that and a lot more! We loved the focus on nature and outdoor time while also building social and emotional skills. Merrill has designed a school that has the perfect balance of meeting each student exactly where they are, while also encouraging growth. We loved that the students were allowed to pursue their own interests while still having a daily routine. The mix of ages in the classroom allowed our son learn from older children and also practice being gentle and patient with the younger children. We loved the communication from Merrill. We got regular updates, photos & messages about what was happening at school. When there was something that needed to be discussed Merrill and Juli were honest, thoughtful & supportive. With their vast experience & education they always had great insight and it felt like we were working together as a team both at home and at school. Our son was well prepared for Kindergarten thanks to Merrill, Juli & Jon. We absolutely loved our time at Cedar House and highly recommend the school.

We were so lucky to have our daughter at Cedar House with Teacher Merrill and Teacher Juli! We always felt she was in great hands, she grew so much in her time at Cedar House. The teachers are very attuned to each child's specific developmental stage, and tailor their approach to meet each child where they are and help them grow. Cedar House is an incredibly supportive and nurturing environment. We feel fortunate to be a part of the Cedar House community!

We absolutely love Cedar House. Merrill truly loves what she does. It comes through in how she runs her school and the relationships she develops with the children. She goes above and beyond making Cedar House a truly wonderful place.
