Kids With An Edge Tutoring

I cannot say enough good things about Kids With an Edge. Our daughter moved into the HCC program and went from kindergarten math in K, to 3rd grade math in 1st grade. She was struggling with the leap because of gaps in her foundational skills and understanding. We worked for months at getting her up to speed, usually very inefficiently because it took me a lot of trial and error to find the right way to help her understand. Eventually we learned about Kids with an Edge, and everything changed. Ms. Anu is incredibly kind and patient, and is absolutely a pro at communicating concepts in a way that kids understand quickly. Shes also very adept at diagnosing where misunderstandings are happening based on incorrect answers. Within three or four weeks our daughter was moving quickly and adeptly through her math, and beginning to show signs not only of confidence, but if pride and excitement. It has been such a game changer for our whole family, and I cannot recommend it highly enough!

We are beyond grateful to have found Kids With An Edge. The impact their tutoring has had on our daughter's performance at school is more than we could have asked for. To provide some context, in December of 2022, our daughter's first grade teachers summoned us for a conference to discuss her progress with ELA and Mathematics. At this point in time, they were very concerned that she was not performing at grade level and even attempted to hand us a packet for special education to consider it for our daughter. We decided to push back, asked for six months to work with her and tutors before proceeding down that path. We first attempted Varsity tutors, but it just did not meet our needs. Then we found Ms. Payton and Mrs. Anu, and something magical happened. Within a few sessions, her teachers started making comments about her wonderful progress. By March 2023 (the date we set for a follow-up on her progress), her teachers could not stop raving about her progress. Fast forward to her final conference in June, and she surpassed all of their expectations and is now on track to be ready for second grade. What has stuck out the most is their repeated comments of how much confidence she has now. Because they have provided her with the tools to work through ELA and Mathematics, our daughter actually enjoys it now (before she would cry at the mention of either). She even walks around with a notebook practicing equations all on her own! If you are considering tutoring for your child, do not look any further!

Nothing but positive feedback. It's been hugely helpful. We're so grateful for the help. My daughter has really started to enjoy reading and seems to be gaining a ton of confidence with it.

My 10th grade daughter's math confidence was struggling after a year of remote learning. Within 2 sessions, we noticed a huge difference and it continued to improve throughout the year. The online sessions were convenient, and I appreciated that my daughter and the tutor (with me looped in) coordinated any necessary changes to the schedule. My daughter is feeling good about math, loves her tutor and her grades are stellar. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thank you!

Both of my kids loved all of the tutors they worked with. Ive seen a huge improvement in their reading skills. My son was able to read at a third grade level when he was in first grade thanks to Anu and her tutors!
