Doug is knowledgeable and most helpful in getting our home project launched. We were able to see our floor come to life while still in the planning phase through his eyes. It's not easy when you try to do this by yourself when you have no clue to materials or costs. Doug is the man to see for a happy ending. I cannot sing the praises of the installers enough. If you want it done right, have Shane and Janet Cavalin do it. OUTSTANDING, PROFESSIONAL, PUNCTUAL, TRUSTWORTHY. We had big furniture to move and they handled every item like it belonged to their mom and dad. They did a wonderful job. I would trust this company and installers for my next project without any hesitation. Thank you team.

Drew Barber and Dylan Cloyd are the owners of Carpet One. In 2020 Carpet One was sub-contracted by our builder to install all flooring in our new home. The flooring installed was vinyl LVP by Shaw. Written on the box of flooring is the word "waterproof". The flooring is 100% vinyl (plastic). The flooring was installed in about 2500 sq. ft. throughout the upstairs and downstairs of our home. Last fall we had water back up from a water softener drain in the basement furnace room. The water covered about 500+ sq.ft. of the LVP flooring. I had all of the water cleaned up within 2 hours of the incident. All seemed fine. A couple weeks later a chip had been broken off a corner of the flooring when someone walked over it. Not good. But then I noticed that several pieces of flooring were warping. I contacted Carpet One. I asked the next steps for repairing the damage. He said that it should be "fixable" and he would provide a quote to repair it. I researched the flooring on the manufacturer's website. They stated that it was waterproof "on the top surface". Additional installation instructions said that the perimeter should be caulked and 1/4 round molding should cover exposed edges, especially in any bathroom or kitchen (to prevent water infiltration). I checked the installation and there was no caulking done at all. There was no 1/4 round molding used anywhere. There was no underlayment used under the flooring. The installation was clearly botched. (This was confirmed later by another company when they came to estimate the damage. This estimator also said that Carpet One once called him to do an installation and when they told him to do the install without following the installation instructions, he refused to do it.) I also had conversations with Drew Barber, the other owner. Though he was more pleasant to speak to, in the end he provided no help or relief from the poor product and poor installation. My builder offered to replace some of the flooring that was the most damaged but I knew that was not appropriate so I declined. If you buy from Carpet One, know that they do not employ their own installers. They will not help you if there is a problem with the products and they will avoid any contact with you if possible. Coincidently, I know of another person who also had Carpet One install their flooring. They also have had damage due to poor installation and have had the same response from Dylan. Fortunately, I have a great home owner's insurance company named AMICA who immediately assessed the damage and wrote a check for the damaged flooring and its replacement. My flooring is in the process of being replaced as I write this. (I'll post later about who that was and the result.) So, Carpet One, you blew it. Your product is bad. Your installer is bad and your customer service is non-existent. No one from Carpet One ever offered to even come to look at the damage. They just ignored everything.
