On March 28th I went into the lens crafters in the Tacoma mall next to the sunglass hut to run in and purchase some sunglasses before a trip when I was met by baby Karen. She did not want to help me a black woman. She stood a distance away from me and legit looked scared to provide customer care. I had to be treated by a sweetheart at sunglass hut. She explained that Maceys was having a sale the associate still wanted her to do the work and not provide support. Fortunately got my glasses from sunglass hut. On my way out of macys I gave her some advice before exiting that she should smile more and provide better customer service. I will never purchase anything from lens crafters if this is the service that is provided to anyone who is different. Inclusion matters but apparently not at lens crafters.

As I was walking into the exam room, I casually yelled I love cats eye and Jackie O frames at Valerie the store manager. When I came out of the exam process, Val had a great selection of frames for me to choose from. She has a good eye (haha) for the details and her recommendations suited me well. Despite the store being quite busy, she was able to walk me through the process of deciding which options best suited my needs per 4 pairs of frames and lenses, but she was also able to assist her staff and other patrons, without making me feel ignored. Val made the experience fun and affordable (she made sure I got all the discounts that applied to my needs).
