Dr Mena is lovely and has a great bedside manner. However, there is nothing conservative about their treatment plan. I basically needed a whole new mouth (this has never happened before) and I didn't feel like I had any control over my own care. It felt very aggressive. With that being said, Dr. Mena did a great job on my 2 crowns and inlays. Not sure that I really needed them, but she did great work! I'm not sure if this is a large corporation thing resulting in pushing for unnecessary work, but I would love to see Dr Mena out on her own. I ended up with a fat bill, but the work was done well.

Cant recommend them enough. I had a horrible toothache that kept me up for 2 nights. I finally decided I needed to see a dentist. They not only got me in same day and was able to get the toothache taken care of. They have the best dentists and staff a person can ask for. Someone who has a dental fear I can definitely say they made my appointment comfortable during my visit.

The people were wonderful; HOWEVER, they will up-charge you on things you dont necessarily need! Hence, the reason they are so wonderful. I got the news I had a few cavities and needed to fix a few fillings. They were very convincing as you get to see the x rays and videos of your teeth. As a diagnostic, Mariam Mena basically wrote down in my summary I needed to get onlays and inlays (never told me this directly, and I had to wait till after the appointment to research what this is). Onlays are basically close to a crown and an inlay is still a pretty big part of the tooth being taken out and actually shouldnt be practiced given their material. THIS COSTED ME ABOUT 3,000$ WITHOUT INSURANCE AND 1,000$ OUT OF POCKET FOR ME!!! Absolutely insane, and they made me pay up front prior to the appointment. Asking for money first shouldve been my what? My 10th red flag. I learned this after doing research and the knowledge of the new dentist I went too, where he explained it thoroughly! Anyways, luckily I got a second opinion where I was told I had NO CAVITIES and just needed to fix my already filled cavities. He explained everything wonderfully, I didnt say anything about Mariam Menas diagnostics as I didnt want it to interfere with his opinion. All and all, it is very very discouraging to have someone especially an oral surgeon to look up too try and take advantage of you. Do yourself a favor and listen to peoples reviews as this isnt the first time this place has done this, and dont be afraid to get a second opinion. DO YOUR RESEARCH PEOPLE!!

Update: I had to change offices due to insurance change and they no longer accept my insurance. Ive learned a lot about some incorrect recommendations. My review below is still true reflecting her character. She mentions she has special credentials in TMJ and recommends a specific night guard (this is the second one, first one is all plastic) that this one would help more and muscle relaxers. I just entered postpartum and breastfeeding so I couldnt take muscle relaxers (even though its safe) as I needed to attend to my newborn. I tried the new night guard it has metal imprints within the plastic and it made my TMJ incredibly worse that I had to hold my jaw in place to chew among other symptoms. My new Dr stated the metal imprints type of night guard was not at all correct. He took the original plastic ones I initially purchased and shaved down high points and corrected it. As a person Dr Mena is great, but after I saw a new Dr and second opinion on my night guards it gave me insight that she may not have the right suggestions or expertise. They request reviews for savings on visits. I need the savings after dishing out two night guards ranging in $300-500 for the two. Ive seen Dr. Mena since the Hazel Dell location. This new location is a bit farther for me, but seeing Dr Mena has been worth the travel. She very attentive, gentle and makes you feel comfortable. Explains every procedure before conducting an examination, cleaning and dental work. Shell ask if you have any questions or concerns.
