Eastern Panhandle Heating and Cooling did an excellent job. They beat the competitions price; they were on time and completed the work as promised. This was for replacing my existing heat pump. I would recommend them to everyone.

In December I contacted them again letting them know that I was ready to have the replacement stove installed, we set up an appointment for December 31st, 2023, to have it installed. That morning they were supposed to be there at 8 am, I called at 8:15 am to be told that not all the parts had been delivered and that they would contact me when they had everything. For multiple appointments after that it was delayed due to weather, or some other issue and I was either called 15 minutes prior to the appointment, 15 minutes after the appointment, or I had to call them see if they were coming. This went on for three or four appointments. On January 31st, 2024, the stove was finally installed. My appointment was for 8 am and they showed up at 9:38 AM and they were there until 2:30 PM installing the replacement heating stove. During that time, they made modifications to my stove without my approval first, by cutting out sections of what they said was rusted material on the inside and broke the one/off switch on the back, which they suggested all I needed to do was touch the two wires together to start the stove. When I protested that option they searched for a switch in their van and haphazardly installed a semi working switch on the back and left the wires hanging. On Monday February 12th, 2023, we had a rainstorm followed by some snow. I work second shift and I got home at 12 am and realized that there was a massive water leak from the new chimney that they installed. I called the answering service for the HVAC company, and they assured me that I would receive a call the next day. The next day came, and I called them because I had not heard back, and I was told that they did not receive the information call from the night before. I told them that I had a massive leak and that I needed it looked at and that I would like them to bring along a general contractor to assess the damages. I was told that they only had one tech that day and that he was over an hour away and that they would not be about to come out until the next day, Wednesday February 14th, 2024. That same say I contacted my insurance company, and they told me that it would be best if I worked it out with Eastern Panhandle Heating and Cooling LLC. I did ask if they could recommend a roofing inspector to come out and to assess the damages done to the roof of the house. I have pictures and video of the water coming in through where they installed the new chimney. Eastern Panhandle came out on Wednesday the 14th, I was assured that they would be there at 8AM, they did not show till almost 11AM. He came inside the house and took pictures for 10 mins and then sat in his van for another 15 and then left. The roofing company that I had called came out to assess the roof at 11:30 AM and quoted me $350 to fix the roof. Eastern Panhandle has agreed to pay for the roof repair. But the stove has taken the brunt of the issue. All the water was dripping down on top of it, before splashing onto the walls and floor. Before that the stove had a small rust ring on the front left side due to the previous owner had used a kettle on it when it was used. Now, after all the potential water damage that has been done, Eastern Panhandle is refusing to pay for any other damages besides the roof. The reason the roof is leaking is because the flashing that is supposed to be under the shingles was glued on top of the shingles. You can see it in the attached pictures. I can not be convinced that this was an accident. I have asked for a minimum of the electrical parts on the back of the stove to be replaced or I have accepted that they can pay to have the stove replaced. There has been no offer of a refund of any of my money. I was charged $1,500 for the job. Which I think is unacceptable.
