Dropped of my tax documents with Chastity Eavenson on October 2nd, 2023. Quoted 7 to 10 working days to complete my request. After 3 weeks of never getting my emails or phone calls returned, I finally connected with Chasity after several calls. I was told that she was still working on my returns and she would call me when they were completed. In other words, don't bother me anymore, they will be done when I call you was the tone. Another three weeks passed (without me checking in) so I decided to stop by the office on 55 Don Knotts Blvd in Morgantown to get an in person update. Chastity Eavenson was not in the office that day. I shared my frustration with another tax preparer and asked that my tax documents be returned as I had made plans for a different company to handle my returns. That H&R Block employee informed me that my tax documents were no longer in that office and Chastity Eavenson had removed them from the office and they are with her at home. I asked if that was common practice and he stated NO, working from scanned documents on a secured home server is, but not the actual removal of personal documents from a secured office. I was livid, yet told to not cross this woman because the quality of the return and further delays could be the consequences. WOW! I contacted corporate and enlisted the help of another H&R Block office to push for the return of my documents. Corporate also confirmed with me that removing personal information from the office is highly unethical and against H&R Block's protocol. Jump to November 27th, 2023. I receive an email from Chastity Eavenson stating that she had been sick and out of the office, but my returns will be complete by Friday December 1st,2023, guaranteed. December 1st came and went with no follow up, as expected. I stopped into the office today December 6th, 2023 and was told that she would "try" to have my returns completed by end of day. I asked for my documents back and that I would move on with another company. I waited for 20 minutes and she returned to tell me that she thinks, she thinks that the documents were moved to another office. I asked for that office address and said I would pick them up myself. She refused to give me that information. She then said that she would call me in an hour after reaching out to the other office. I said, no you won't call me and said I would be enlisting the help of the Morgantown Police Department for assistance. She then returned to the back office and within 90 seconds my folder was returned to me. I have had my taxes prepared by H&R Block for decades at other locations but will never use them again based on them employing a nightmare like this.
