Harbor House Domestic Abuse

They offer classes to abusers to change their violent way and help prevent further domestic violence. I think that is amazing however they don't provide any support groups for the victims. Unless you need a place to live they can't help you. So disappointed they provide self help for the abuser but not the traumatized victims.

Ive tried getting help multiple times here. The first time I went to the support group i shared about my unprocessed trauma, the group leader had to ask me in front of everyone something along the lines of, what race was he because race/culture plays a huge role in domestic abuse. I replied very confused, that he was White. I was about 19 at the time. Again in my late 20s I called the hotline for some support, and when I talked to the lady on the phone she started laughing at me about my situation. The last time I tried going there for help to talk to someone, all the lady said to me was oh its probably just generational trauma. Whatever thats supposed to mean. There were a few angels that worked there though but theyre probably moved on.

They kick people out in the cold when it's 25 and don't even give them one extra day to figure out a place to go

All advocates there are amazing people. Knowing that they will go to the max to help me out. They are a family staff that helps families back on their feet. If I can give them 10 stars I will.
