Rate them a 0. We gave them a down payment of almost $6000 to replace siding and a deck. They never showed up to perform any of the work even after repeated attempts to resolve the problem, so we took them to small claims court in January and won. But they still haven't refunded our money from spring of 2020. We doubt they ever will. Contact the Consumer Protection Agency of Wisconsin to check them out if considering to sign a contract with this company.

Hard to get them to your jobsite once they have your money. Coming at 10pm at night to finish up roof. Then fishing up second roof the ahead at night also with flashlight. I really believe if I have a roof problem he will not stand behind his work.

Very unresponsive. We were told that since we are tearing off our own roof they would be here on July 20th. We tore off our roof. They were not here on that Monday. There was a big rain storm that ended up causing water damage in our daughters room. So we asked if we could have someone come and tarp it since we did not have the man power or equipment. They said yes and two guys showed up that did not know how to roof and left without tarping it. They assured us someone would come tarp it. Here we are on August 1st. They have told us time and time again someone will tarp it. No one has come. We have no idea when our roof is being put on. They never answer our calls and when we call off different numbers they answer on the first ring. Each person we talk to gives us a different story. No communication between the company or with us. We now have been sitting with no roof and water damage and this company has done nothing to help us. All they do is give a run around and tell us lies. Very disappointed. Life is pretty stressful with no roof, water damage and a company that doesn't care.

From the start of the project in JUNE until they finished (what we would allow them on the property to finish so they could give us the warranty on the roof) in DECEMBER was a nightmare. There was little to no communication from the company. I was given the run around that they would be at my house to finish the project before July 4th. Never came to finish, so I called multiple times until the end of July. For my sanity I stopped calling them. It took until End of October beginning of November before they contacted me to finish the roof (because down payment was pulled from the finance company because they could not get a reply back from American Modern Exteriors). The owner texted my husband and threatened to sue us and wanted us to contact him personally. When husband tried to contact him he would not answer the phone or call back. They finally came to put eve vents in last week. They barely pulled out of the driveway and emailed us the final bill (with payment due in 3 days). My husband decided to just pay them to get rid of the headache of dealing with them. We would never recommend this company to anyone. There were many lies given to us throughout the whole process and the owner was very unprofessional and would never contact us directly and always made his workers contact us. I believe Modern Exteriors deserves a rating of 0 because that is the amount of work that has been done, the amount of accurate information provided and the amount of accountability this company has. I got an estimate and signed on with Modern Exteriors in May of 2020 which was easily the worst decision Ive made. All the information sounded great, but little did I know, it was all inaccurate. After months with no communication, lies and delays I requested to cancel my order and receive a refund. In November 2020 Modern Exteriors informed me I would receive a full refund for the down payment and it would be mailed out within the next couple weeks. 7 months later, after many emails, phone calls and voice mails that went unanswered, Modern Exteriors went back on what was previously discussed and said I wouldnt be receiving a refund due to the materials being delivered. So now Im being punished for a Modern Exterior employees mistake!? I even offered to have Modern Exteriors complete the job at a discounted price but never heard back from them. I've continued to call, but get sent directly to voice mail every time. When calling from a different number, they magically picked up.... but were rude and like always, provided inaccurate information or straight up lied. This company wants your money, not your business. I would NEVER recommend Modern Exteriors to anyone that cares about customer service, their time or money.
