My experience there was one that I am no longer a Christian. Things they do right: They have some very kind, and knowledgeable Pastors and Staff- and a lot of the parishioners have a zeal for Christ. The worship Pastor(Pastor Tyson) the youth Pastor(Pastor Jesse) and the late head Pastor(Pastor Dave Hutchins) were always incredibly kind, patient, and encouraging even when I had lots of questions, doubts, and challenges concerning my faith. And if you are looking for a very literal and narrow interpretation of the Bible/ Biblical teachings- they have sermons, a library, and lots of opportunities to learn in their church that line up with that. Unfortunately if you are looking for a church that is open and affirming and where everyone regardless of labels is welcomed to Christ, this is very much not it. Women are only allowed very specific (limited) roles and I have seen others hurt by the openly judgmental, and bigoted views perpetuated there. I wish I could give a higher rating but sadly I am not the only former attendant who has now left Christianity since attending that church. If you are in Baraboo and looking for an open an affirming church family I would highly recommend the First United Methodist Church in Baraboo(Pastor Cathy is seriously one of the most compassionate people I have ever met) or the UCC church. They do lots of outreach and charitable works in the community and everyone is welcome. (Even if Christianity isnt your chosen faith)
