We really appreciate Dr. Rankin's approach to pediatrics. He's been great with all our kids from birth to teenage years.

My son was born at st. Vincent hospital and was in the NICU for a week. He was in the NICU for as long as he was because he had problems latching on and eating. We had brought up and asked if he was tongue tied, because we know plenty of people who had the same issue with their kids. They said that a couple NICU nurses and doctors looked and did not see any issues. We also brought it up multiple times with his pediatrician Dr. Rankin at Prevea when he would not eat solid foods. After my son was a year old, and still not eating solid food they finally said that he was tongue tied and had to get surgery to fix it. If caught early enough then the surgery would have been a lot easier and cheaper with only a knife. Since it was cought too late they had to put him under and use a laser to control the bleeding. Not only that, but then he had to see a speech therapist for 4 months. Then we get all these bills, and when we file a complaint with the hospital and his pediatrician "Dr. Rankin" at Prevea. They drag it out for 7 months and say that the doctors followed the proper treatment plan. So either they are just trying to make things more expensive for people or they are just a bunch of idiots!!! As for prevea's response for me to contact them, it must be an automated response, because I have been talking with them for the past 8 months and it got me nowhere. That is why I wrote the review.

Dismissed my concerns for my son having a tounge tie his Whole first year, I brought it up every well check. He wouldnt latch to brfeed because of it and eventually affected his eating once he got older, gagged on all foods passed pureed textures.. I finally Demanded a referral, wish I would've thought to get a 2nd opinion sooner. By then he was 1 and too old for a quick clinic clip and was too guarded with his mouth.. had to have surgery and all. Then he didn't know how to control food in his mouth so add on speech/feeding therapy for another 5 months. Having to take off work, bringing him in multiple times a month for months, all during Covid. Not even taking responsibility for dismissing it, nor apologizing. I'm never taking my son back to him. I put way to much trust in him, I heard all nice things till it was my son that was failed by him.

Dr. Rankin is awesome, he is always in tune with my daughters health even if its just a cold. What I like the most about him is he did his residency at Children's Hospital in Milwaukee and my daughter has been seen there since birth so he knows all about their specialty clinics. If I were to have another baby he would be my first choice and I recommend him.

Dr. Rankin has been nothing short of amazing with my three boys. He is thorough, honest, supportive, and concise. My boys mental health and sensory issues are quite complex, and Dr. Rankin knows how to talk with them, include them in every step of treatment, and asks for follow-up. We feel very very lucky to have him in our network of providers.
