I was going to buy property in Hudson, but the utube videos show how corrupt the police are, i will take my small business elsewhere. Mayor should watch them if he cares.

This one star review is difficult because Mike in IT at City Hall was wonderful, kind, and helpful. That said, upon moving to Hudson in June of 2017, the first thing I did was to sign up for text alerts so that I would know when I would have to have my car off the street for plowing. The first big snowstorm of 2018 hit and I waited for my text message. It never arrived. I walked out onto my street and all my neighbors still had their cars parked on the street, so I figured they knew something I didn't. I left my car where it was. Sure enough, at 3:30 am, the Hudson PD gave me a ticket - because that's apparently what they do at 3:30 am. I took my ticket down to city hall. They looked me up in the system, acknowledged that I had in fact signed up for text alerts, and then discovered that "Kevin" in IT had made a draft of the alert but had never actually sent it. Five hundred and fifty (550) residents have signed up for that alert and not one of them received it. I wonder how many other people got tickets. (Come to think of it, the whole "we'll send you a text alert" and then not actually send it, is a pretty good way to make money off of parking tickets when it snows). Mike in IT suggested I take my ticket down to the police department and tell them that it was the city's fault that the text message never went out. I did that. I went down to the police department. The woman behind the counter was perfectly lovely, but then Lt. Whoever looked at me and with a shrug of the shoulders informed me that the text messages were simply a courtesy and the town owed me nothing. While he was still yammering, I asked the lovely woman behind the counter if I could just pay my ticket now, please. She said yes and then informed me that the police department does not take credit cards. The 3:30 am police officer managed to look up my tag, print off a ticket, with all of my information - my address, my car, the color, the tag, etc. - from the comfort of his/her warm vehicle, and then place it on my car. But when I go to pay said ticket, they don't take credit cards. You can run my tag from the comfort of your in-vehicle-computer but you can't take a credit card? In 2018? Seriously? My first experience living in Hudson during a snow storm and I have not been impressed; not by city services and certainly not the police department.
