I have been going here for 10 years and the staff has always been amazing. Very friendly and kind. But the volunteers are who make me want to keep coming back. They are wonderful and seeing them each time makes me smile. I almost never have to wait with my appointments but when I do Im just glad they have so much donations. They were a little understaffed last year but they seem back in full swing past 2 times I was there. Give blood. Its so easy

I have visited Versiti in Waukesha to donate blood multiple times. They are efficient and clean. They make sure you are comfortable and answer any questions you might have. I've never had to wait when I've had an appointment. Some staff are better than others at placing the needle, though I've never had anyone not be able to do. Some just seem to have a gift for making it almost painless. They always a nice selection of food and drink for after your appointment too.

In my 36 times Ive donated blood, I would say by far this was my worst experience. The person who checked me in recommended me to donate double red cells, asked me to weight on a scale when Ive never done that before, then later realized that I wasnt eligible. The person was very insincere in their apology. After doing the questions, I was later asked if I had ever had cancer. I most likely clicked it incorrectly and informed the person multiple times after that it was a mistake. Despite that, the person who questioned me seemed to give a look that they did not believe me. Additionally, I was asked to do an ethnic survey, which seemed strange since youre asked at the beginning what your background is. Then they say its optional, then why even bring it up? That and one person fumbling through the donation equipment led me to walking out for the first time ever. Will consider going to a different location going forward, even if its twice or three times the distance from where I live today.

Hey there, Gerald. While we normally pride ourselves on providing a great experience for our donors, it seems like we fell short of that here. We’d love to get more information from you so that we can do better in the future. Please send us an email at [email protected] so that we can learn more. We apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for being a lifesaving donor.
