$120 PER NIGHT ?????
ANOTHER OVERPRICED MOTEL BY BEST WESTERN....
THE THREE STARS ARE JUST FOR THE VERY GOOD BREAKFAST AND THE GREAT STAFF.
This review is based solely on my own experience and personal opinion.
I stayed at the Best Western Torchlite on a Monday, 1/18/22, and it was my very first time.
When I booked, I genuinely thought that the $120 they were asking for the room were probably worth it. I was just wrong...
ROOM: this is a MOTEL, 100% Motel. My room was small, barely and poorly furnished, old and moldy. The springs of my bed were busted, and the pillows were just old and stinky. The studio desk is small and uncomfortable. The chest of drawers is old and broken (not worn, but broken). there is no wardrobe, there is a sort of hanging rack that faces the restroom. The walls have stains and mold stains. There is an overwhelming feeling of not taken care of and abandoned to its fate.
The Restroom could not be any smaller... you can barely perform number two given the leg space and you can barely take a shower or a bath for that matters, given the very small size of the bathtub.
The small refrigerator is SUPER NOISY!!! wont just stop colling down.
The amount of dust in the room was overwhelming.
One of my Soap Bar package had be clearly chewed on by rats. it was right on my bathroom sink. Wow!
A/C UNIT: They have an A/C unit but IT DONES NOT work. the ONLY heater they have are the long Heating bars attached to the bottom of the walls.
(NOTE: when I arrived the temperature inside my room was 55F... I realized that the heating system was not working and I called the reception. The lady sent a Technician to fix the heating system and he eventually managed to get it on..... 3 hours later. Just for you to know, outside it was 4F that night).
BREAKFAST: They give you a paper when you check in, on it you find a list of "items" you can order for your breakfast. The way it works is... they start at 6am... you give them a call and tell them what you want. When your breakfast is ready they give you a call and you HAVE to go get it at the reception/main lobby. In my case it was 8F outside and snowy, so I had to get soaked to go get my breakfast.
I have to say that they gave me EVERYTHING I ordered, except for few items they did not have available.
Pretty big breakfast that will fill even the hungriest guest.
The Overall quality of the breakfast was good. I enjoyed it and the staff told me I could ask for more in case I would still be hungry.
POOL: NO POOL.
FITNESS CENTER: NO FITNESS CENTER.
INTERNET: very weak and to access.
STAFF: I gave 3 stars to this facility just for the Staff. otherwise it would have been a straight one star.
The older lady at the reception was nice, friendly and welcoming, even though just like a smart "silver fox" she made me pay right there right now, when I arrived, so that once I had realized how bad the room was, I would have less likely walked away and changed hotel..... ops, sorry, MOTEL. Yet she gave me a welcome gift with some food and a drink. thoughtful...
the Breakfast staff was very nice and friendly, they tried their best to satisfy my big hunger and make me feel welcomed.
PRICES: $120 a night ?!?!?!? OVERPRICED!!! NOT JUSTIFIED!!!
CONCLUSIONS: Just look for the "SUPER 8" in town, WAY better. I would never book this place again, very disappointed.
