Old Time Chimney Sweep

This is a terrible business. Do not use them. In February 2019 I paid $564 for a chimney inspection and resealing, paying extra for sealing that had "no way of leaking". I have had substantial leaks on Dec 22, 2019 and Jan 2, 2020 leaking water into the fireplace. I checked the roof from inside the attic. No roof leaks, only the chimney/roof interface which should have been 100% sealed. I tried calling the only number provided and the owner's voicemail was full so I could not even leave a message. I feel deceived and conned. I repeat, do not use this business.

Very unprofessional! No call before the appointment time to give an update, and could not get a hold of anyone at the office. Almost an hour after they were supposed to be at our residence only to tell us that it would be another hour or more until they arrived. This was supposed to be for just the inspection. The owner/manager was rude on the phone with me after I voiced my displeasure in not being kept informed as a professional courtesy. Canceled the appointment in the end because of extremely poor first impressions! Might have been an off day for the company but once you make that bad first impression it's hard to change mine and my husband's minds.

If the ONLY service that you need is a chimney sweep, then this company may be right for you. However, I can’t recommend them because: 1. The technician was 2 hours late arriving to my home and it was ONLY after I called him 2. The original check that we gave the technician was lost, and had to be replaced. 3. I never got pictures of the inspection Update: 10/31/2018 After speaking with the owner, Mr. Adams, I have decided to change my review rating. The owner wasn’t aware that our home had been serviced because the check was made payable to the technician (at the technician’s request). Mr. Adams told me that the technician is no longer with the company due to poor performance such as in the case that happened with me. Mr. Adams was gracious enough to reschedule an appointment for free chimney inspection, and I appreciate him for taking care of us!

Old Time cleaned out the chimney, but not the fireplace insert, leading to some nasty results. They collected payment on the spot but then did not return my call. I just left a second call. If they will return it and be helpful, I will be able to improve their rating.

I would never recommend this company. I had an appointment set up with them and after being 15 minutes past the time, I decided to call the office just to check in. The receptionist that answered insured me they were on their way. 45 minutes later I called again, same woman said “they had issues but almost there”. Another 30 minutes passed - still no arrival. Called back again and she said that she just spoke with Mike, the owner, and he will be calling me. Never heard from him. So I called the office once again to get Mike’s number. He didn’t answer when I called twice and his voicemail was full so I could not leave a message. I would NOT recommend this company. They are a waste of your time, very disappointing and very unprofessional.
