image These guys were awesome. When another company shut off my heat during a routine maintenance call and left me with a quote for $9500-$13800 for a new boiler, the guy from Arctic gave me options, called the guy who cleaned out my boiler, and I had heat and a CO2 free home a few hours later. I can't recommend them enough.

image Had an after hours emergency the night before back to school- needless to say, my wife was nervous! Dawson at Arctic Chain got us flowing again. He was courteous, quick and and clean. Nice job!

image One of my tenants couldn't get very hot water out of the tub faucet. All of the rest of the tenants didn't have any problem and he didn't have any problem with any other faucets in the apartment, just the tub faucet. I explained this to Arctic chain and they sent somebody out. He couldn't figure out what was wrong. After three hours he couldn't get the temperature above 94°, even though he had me turn the hot water heater up as high as it would go. He even brought in a new bypass valve and I asked him what that was for. He said it was to rule out something to do with the toilet. He went under the floor into the crawl space, turned off the water to the building and there was a lot of banging around. Still, nothing changed. He said he was stumped, and I would probably need to replace the entire faucet assembly, which would entail busting out the wall behind the tub. This would come to another $500, materials and labor. Well, since he was there, I asked him if he could check the steady leak in the sink faucet in the same bathroom. He did check the drip in the sink faucet and even with a a long handled wrench pliers he couldn't get the Delta faucet unscrewed. It was stuck pretty good. I asked him if he had something to spray in there to loosen it up. No, he didn't. I would need to buy a new faucet assembly for the sink also. Another $40 plus installation. They charged me $458.78. I called their office and said that I didn't think it was fair. The man in charge called the next day and I got a big run around about municipality rules and regulations about temperatures. Also a lot of talk about temperature gradients , even though the hot water heater was on the other side of the wall from the tub. Something about a dipstick in the hot water heater, and maybe I needed a new water heater, which by the way was about three years old. But they don't last very long. It took me a couple weeks to get the money together to go get a new faucet for the sink which he had advised me to do. I went to Lowe's to get a new faucet like the guy said, and I explained my problem to them. They suggested I call American Standard. Which I did. The very first girl that picked up the phone when I called said" I can probably help you with that." Then she explained that all I needed do was take an Allen wrench and remove the sleeve over the tub faucet. Then use a flathead screwdriver to lift up the red plastic dial and adjust it to that heat setting that I wanted, which was indicated by an arrow. Then simply snap red dial back in place and replace the sleeve over the faucet. I followed her instructions and it took me all of 10 minutes. Then I turned down the heat in the water heater. Everything's been fine ever since. Also, I sprayed some WD-40 on the Delta sink faucet, which loosened it up, and with a regular screwdriver, I unscrewed that faucet and replaced a little gasket which I already had. No more leak.
I saw him walk out with the bypass valve. They told me at the office, it was the old one. But it was still good because it didn't need to be replaced to begin with. That was $98. Pretty crafty. After I explained to the office that I had fixed the problem myself they refunded me $218.78. That left me with an expense of $240 (which they should have eaten) for nothing more than a lot of bad advice.
If you're going to use these guys you better watch them like a hawk.

image I have used them for quite a few years and they have always been very reliable and professional. There are a lot of fly by night plumbing company's out there that take the buck and run, but these guys I trust!
