image We had a great time staying here! The staff were very friendly and helpful. This is such a charming and interesting place to stay while in Juneau. It's conveniently located and we were able to walk to many places, including local cafs and coffee shops. We'd definitely stay here again!
Walkability: Very close to bars, restaurants, and stores.

image Traveling for work and have been staying in the Alaskan Hotel. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Any time I need to communicate with them they are responsive and accommodating. My room is very cozy and I enjoy the city lights and soft sound of rain at night. The building itself has great character and the centralized location let's you feel the pulse of Juneau. Everything is walkable and if you do a little searching you can find quality restaurants nearby or fun community events :)

image Like Johnny Cash, "I've been everywhere." So, I mean it when I say that this is the coolest hotel I've ever stayed at. The staff are all genuinely kind and helpful, but even better, they're REAL, lol. Traveling as much as I do, I've learned to read people pretty well. And the staff that I've met are genuine.
The hotel, inside and out, is exactly like I imagined a hotel from the wild West, would be like. But, more than that, it has that je ne sais quoi. There is just something about it that you'll love, but can't quite define what exactly that is. In other words, it's just unique, awesome.
It's no frills, but I was 100 percent comfortable. I chose a room with a shared bathroom. The shared shower and toilet are down the hall. They are small, but I never felt like I was too cramped to take care of business. There are rooms that have toilets and showers in them.
My room was facing the street, and near the downstairs bar. It's February, as I write this, so it's not tourist season. Meaning, I got a bit of street and bar noise. But, I've lived in downtown Chicago, so to me, it was quite, lol.
I've been here in Juneau for over a year. Hey, this hotel was on the "bucket list"! Anyway, I mention tourists because, once the cruise ships begin arriving, ANYWHERE downtown, you are going to hear the sound you'd expect to hear when thousands of people are walking up and down the street. Even THAT wouldn't phase me. But, of your sensitive to street noise, you may want to request a room that's at the back and not near the bar.
But, honestly, of recommend staying near the street, right over the bar, and experiencing a bit of what it was like during the latter part of the Gold Rush. Don't waste that opportunity. LIVE A LITTLE! lol...
Also, it's in the middle of downtown, so you are close to pretty much everything you'll want to see, and even the city bus station, tour bus pick up spots, and the most unique shops you'll ever encounter.
Truly, I loved my stay. In fact, I love it so much, I decided to stay an extra night, JUST to be in the hotel a bit longer. I say with absolute honesty and sincerity that this little historic (it's on the National Register!) it's something I'll buy only remember, but think fondly of, for the rest of my life.
As Hunter S. Thompson said, "Buy the ticket. Take the ride."
You won't regret it.
