Rainbow Bend Lodges

We had an excellent stay at Rainbow Bend in September. Tom met us at the airport and 15 minutes later we had settled into our clean and comfortable cabin at the waters edge. We each purchased Coleman coolers with wheels and brought one duffle bag for 5 nights. Instead of eating what some lodge wanted to serve us, we brought what we wanted - costco steaks, breakfast burritos, salad stuff, healthy snacks, great wine & bourbon. The cabin had many spices etc., a complete cooking setup and gas grills. We duct taped the coolers and TSA had no issue reviewing & retapping. We easily saved over 50% vs what other Alaskan lodges would have cost. While billed as a DIY fishing experience it is not OYO (on your own). Tom and Carson were more than happy to answer all our questions, share river info and provide the hottest local flies. We had several days with a guide that was knowledgable, personable and helped us learn the river. All the equipment was first rate (Simms waders, Abel reel, TFO or Loomis rods) and the boats were dependable, easy to run and navigate the river. The highlight was the direct dock pickup for our guided fly out to Brooks. We just walked out our cabin to the dock and the float plane picked us up -this location can’t be beat. Even paying for a guide each day still saves you several $1000’s by just making your own meals. We exchanged daily fishing success with the other anglers and everyone was just happy to be fishing in Alaska. I waited 13 years for this trip and Rainbow Bend did not disappoint.

Have been going up there to the same place for 10 years and wouldn't even think about anyplace else. Tom and his crew are all top notch and fun to be around. That place is my little Heaven on earth once a year!!!

Tom is honest as the day is long. The fishing is fantastic, the service is second to none. If you are a serious fisherman this is the place for you! Extremely hard to book a spot as most clients are repeat, but you might get lucky! Give Tom a call and book a trip that you won't regret!
