Watch Out !! I bought a nice necklace here and then found a "Made in China" sticker in the box. I went back and traded it in for something else. I don't know if what I traded for is China-made or not. Could be.
Buyer beware.
I went back again and studied the jewelry counter layout. It looked like the real Alaskan jewelry, very expensive, was in the case next to the cash register. The other cases had lovely jewelry, but less expensive.
I'm sorry to say, be careful when buying here.
You will do better at a Craft Fair or in Anchorage.
Maruskiya's DOES have a great selection of t-shirts, jackets, coffee mugs, carvings and other gifty items.

This was my first trip to Nome.. Ever! Great selection. I wanted a Nome, Alaska T-shirt, they have it. Iditarod- Nome, Alaska shirt, they have it. Highly recommended.
