My mom passed away earlier this month and needed to open an account to deposit the FIRST estate dispersement check of $100k, since I was pretty sure Wal-Mart wouldn't cash that cashiers check, lol. Called Tuesday morning to make an appointment to see a banker. They set up an appointment for Thursday at 1pm with a guy named Ryan. Ryan called me Wednesday afternoon to confirm 1pm on Thursday. Wife and I showed up 17 minutes early, as I was raised "better early than late". We mask up, open the door and a young lady and a gentleman in a suit guarding the door. I tell her I have an appointment to see Ryan at 1. Snotty attitude from the gal says "well, he just went to lunch, and just left, and you are 20 minutes early, so you will have to wait outside." Ok, I guess I was 17 minutes early, but have to wait outside in the heat? Couldn't sit in the AC? Wasn't like I was opening an account with penny rolls, was the FIRST $100k check from the estate, and both Ryan and the guy that made the appointment were told it was a 6 figure check. So, already being treated poorly, IMO, by her attitude, we wait outside till just after 1. No one came and got us, or even apologise, so we got up and left. Walked into Mission bank by Harbor Freight, they fit us in and we walked out a bit later with a new account. I guess a couple hundred thousand (this month) isn't worth Wells Fargos business. Good thing Mission Bank has bankers that don't mind taking large deposits.

I stopped in a few times to have some documents notarized with the help of Laura. I felt a bit silly having never done this before, however her patience and kind professionalism shined through on all three visits. On the third time coming in I was a bit embarrassed as I don't like wasting people's time, she assured me it was no problem and was more than happy to help. Very kind people at a very lovely branch. More than happy to do business here in the future.
