Fabulous restaurant...my new Tucson favorite! I’m from the South and visit New Orleans frequently. I was a bit skeptical at first about Bird’s gourmet Southern cuisine and many Cajun influences. Happy to say the food here is spot on! The Shrimp & Grits were perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the collard greens were delicious with bacon and a splash of cider vinegar. The ambience at lunch was peaceful and staff was friendly and helpful. The only suggestion I’d make is for them to add umbrellas, a shade canopy, or even a pergola over the patio. Even in winter, it was just too sunny and hot to sit outside without shading. Add a misting system to the shade and it will become a delightful outdoor dining spot. BTW: Please pay no attention to trolls like “Dinosaur” Donald (crotchety old man) and “Jerk” Jessica, who based her 1-star rating on hearsay...hasn’t even dined at Bird! Try Bird for yourself, I doubt you’ll be disappointed!

Awful food....... We had dinner there last evening with friends...... The place was very nice....the waiter was attentive The menu was attractive but not inclusive...... THe waiter even posted that he had not served the eggplant sandwich before.....that was the clue but I did not listen...... NOW FOR THE FOOD. atrocious....I had the eggplant sandwich....it had ice burg lettuce on the bread..not what the menu stated......the eggplant came in strips of one per half of sandwich & it was so tough I could not chew it...I did make a mention to the server that this was not acceptable....he did nothing .........the sauce was awful....like russian dressing out of a bottle &I have made the sauce myself so I knew what it should taste like...... the lettuce was so tough & the tomatoes were in large pieces that I had to cut each one. My husbands shortrib for $25.00 was meager.......one rib ..no vegetable no nothing...on a large white dinner plate was embarrassing... Our friends fried chicken was old & dried out.....they had to cut & chew for ever....... So it will be very difficult to get my husband to come back again. We need new places here in Tucson so after a year of being opened I hope you will improve with a new chef..... It would be possible to have every seat filled every night with improved cooking. At this moment I cannot spread the word of a nice place to eat.....for $75.00
