Dairy Hollow has been a lifeline for my writing when stuck. I have finished books in a frenetic week ... and found the space and quiet to think though plot lines and possibilities when in the early stages. It has been my "happy place" during COVID as it is a bubble in itself. I feel safe and nurtured. Staff are caring, patient and exceptionally helpful.

This place is a gem for writers! I absolutely love everything about it. I've been several times over the last two years and can't recommend it highly enough. The staff lives in town and will help on the weekend or anytime via text. The rooms are beautifully decorated. Not lavish, but complete and tasteful, with mini-fridge, coffee maker, microwave, and the usual furniture. The colors are warm and soothing and, since they've recently been remodeled, everything is pretty new. Another great thing is that they have a chef on staff, Jana, who provides four star dinners for everyone in attendance M-F. She also makes sure that the common fridge has plenty of supplies that the writers can help themselves to the rest of the day--and all this comes free with the room price of $75 per night! It's an unbelievable deal. Because each room has it's own bathroom, the colony can follow COVID protocols, so you're as safe there as you'd be almost anywhere. They accommodate everybody's needs (including food preferences) and they enforce a "quiet" policy so we don't disturb each other. I love the location and the scenery, too. There are no other houses in view and there are plenty of walking and hiking trails within a few hundred feet of the office door. If you're looking for a serene place to write undisturbed by anything except the pods of deer that happen by morning and evening, this is the place for you.
