Holiday Firewood

Went in for a wheel barrel of mixed hard wood once again the wood was not seasoned or had live termites inside. Buyer beware. This was my 3rd time this has happened to me.

Great Customer Service, and the owner is nice. However, beware of the wood that they sell you. I recently got their barrel special, and half of the wood that I had purchased had termite in it. If you plan on burning all of the wood in the next few days, then it shouldn't be too big of a deal. However, if you plan on storing it for any extended time, you might get termites spreading around your property. This is a good last minute wood supply store that you plan on bringing to your next camping trip.

I don't think the wood I was sold was properly seasoned, and I specifically asked if the wood was seasoned and ready. I've never had such a difficult time burning wood. I'm halfway through my $325 half cord and I still can't get a log to light and stay lit. Paying a premium price I expect premium wood. At this point, I'd be better off burning some random free wood I can find on FB. I was also surprised the guy wouldn't give a discount for paying in cash. Especially since I helped load my own truck on the spot and didn't have it delivered. Update: 9 months after this review and almost a year after purchasing the firewood, the wood is now burning great. So this further supports my claim that the wood wasn't seasoned and ready at the time it was sold to me. With several more months of storage, the almond wood is burning great now. I just wish I didn't pay so much and have such a difficult time burning it all throughout the past burning season ..

This place is great, but their hours are a little inconsistent and they don't always take credit cards, so I recommend calling before driving there.
