Someone said to me "you need several planets to hold all the waste from nuclear power plants." Here is almost all of the waste fuel rods used up since the plant's start date stored in dry casks. Can you imagine 40 years of coal waste? Nuclear provides 20% of the US electrical supply. At that percentage each American generates nuclear waste equivalent to the weight of a US quarter coin each year. Spent nuclear fuel is one of the last things anyone has to worry about.
