Called and placed on hold. Still on hold as im writing this. The website says its closed (see picture) so im just calling to verify the hours and now its been 2 minutes im on hold. Looks like poor management.

Hello, my name is Chris Cheung. I signed up for a membership with LA Fitness one month before Covid-19 was a major issue. After the pandemic started, I wasn't able to use my membership. A few months later I was charged annual fees, monthly membership, and another seperate $19.99 fee. I called LA Fitness and they were pretty helpful although they didn't credit the $19.99 fee back. They ended up helping freeze the account because I'm assuming they didn't want to loose their precious customer base. In March 2021, they sent a tactful email out letting customers know they were re-opening, but at the bottom of the email they said they were going to be billing again. The agreement I had on the phone with the customer service rep back in July 2020, was that I wanted the account frozen until further notice. Not the other way around! They charged my card in April 2021 for monthly dues although I never agreed to reactivating the membership that I froze due to Covid-19. I still don't feel comfortable going to the gym yet until Covid-19 is completely out of the news. Today, I called to work something out with LA Fitness and it seems the tables have turned in providing a mutual agreement that is benefital for both the customer and LA Fitness. I was given the run around and had to waste hours on the phone with LA Fitness and my bank to dispute the charges. From a company that has been in business for years, I would expect LA Fitness to have some dignity and respect for the way they communicate to their clients. I'm completely upset and to be frank annoyed at how this whole experience happened today. It's not professional, nor is it being kind. It just seems LA Fitness only cares about the money although they probably received millions in Stimulus from the US Government to help them through the Pandemic. Grow up LA Fitness and be a better company.
