Monarch Christian School

This school is a gem in the San Fernando Valley.  MCS is an awesome Christian centered school that provides a first class academic experience while also promoting the Christian values that the school was founded on.  I enrolled both of my boys at two years old in the Early Education program.  Not only have they progressed as students they have  demonstrated the Christian values that my wife and I feel are important in the upbringing of young people due to the wonderful Bible curriculum and the role models at MCS.  Furthermore, the faculty and staff at MCS approach their job with the passion, care, and excellence that all parents want for their child.  All children receive the very best when they enroll at MCS!!!

I have had all four of my children attend Monarch over the years with two having already graduated.  My wife and I have seen the benefits of having a solid education while instilling in our children the values and principles found in scripture.  Our two older children have moved on to thrive in their new schools and our two younger children look forward to going each morning.  We are thankful for the Administration and teachers!

My younger one started at Monarch when he was 2 and we absolutely loved it. Every year I would compare what the older grades were doing to what my (older) daughter was learning at the number one public school in LAUSD and after two years, I couldn't continue with mediocre education, so we enrolled my older one at Monarch too. This school excels in education and provides a sense of community you can't find elsewhere. The teachers and staff are friendly and always available to discuss and address any concerns you may have as a parent. This is God's school and it goes above and beyond for the students and families there. I have noticed some families leave when the school wouldn't submit to parents unreasonable demands when they felt it should just because they pay tuition. I can't imagine any great school being a good fit for those families. Monarch is a great fit for any family who respects quality education and community.

Monarch is family!  I am not staff at the school, nor am I on the board, but I have had two kids graduate from Monarch.  When my other Christian school closed, we looked around and Monarch was a stand out.  It wasn't corporate.  Every single teacher we have ever had was fully invested in my children's lives.  They knew about birthdays and sports and even came to some of my children's sporting events and baptisms.  They have been through lifes ups and downs with me and I with them.  They are energetic and always learning, but most importantly, they love God with all their heart.  It isn't like a huge school that is set in its ways.  They are always changing and growing.  With growth can come some rough patches, but they always learn and grow some more.  I had to move my youngest child to a school closer to home this year and I think I was sobbing as much as he was.  We still get together with our Monarch friends.  I have been to a few schools over the years and Monarch and its teachers, staff and parents are truly heaven on earth!!

I currently have two boys here at Monarch, ages 1 and 3. Both of my boys started there when they were 4 months old. As a new mom, I don't know what I would have done without Ms. Becky in the Panda room. She not only cared for my boys so well, but also answered all my silly "new mom" questions because she is so knowledgeable about what she does. As my kids have gown I have gotten to know so many more of the teachers because they truly live out their motto of being "in partnership with parents". I am amazed each day at what my 3 year old comes home having learned. He is starting to write his letters, counting to 30, improving his social skills, and most importantly, he knows that Jesus loves him dearly. As a teacher myself, it is important to me that my kids get an education that focuses on the whole child, and that is apparent at Monarch. When searching for preschools, I visited and toured over 10 different schools. I found Monarch to be head and shoulders above the others. Some things that stood out to me were... there is a very clear curriculum and learning goals for each day (even for my 1 year old), not only is there daily communication about how my child is doing, but also a more formal meeting twice a year to discuss present levels and goals to help them continue learning in the areas specific to their needs, teachers are constantly learning through staff development opportunities, and teachers not only teach Christian values, but they live them out each day in their classrooms. I love being part of the Monarch family and my kids look forward to going to school each day!
