image I have also been given the run around when it comes to screening my teen for ADHD.  I get texted daily to pay my bill but everyone just ghosts you when you ask where things are going and where's our help for my child.  Don't waste our time.  This is clearly a business set up to train upcoming therapists and psychology majors.  There are probably only one or two REAL licensed therapists to train and supervise all the students..........hmmmmmmm.

image This review is based on my overall experience, and one incident with my therapist, Dr. Nonnette Mosley. This establishment is fine, clean, and comforting. The front desk people are very welcoming & kind and always remembered my name. Dr. Mosley is not a very warm person but neither am I so I thought this dynamic would work for me, it didnt. I felt like I came in every week talked about nothing to a wall, and then booked my next appointment. I want to mention not one of my appointments in the past 3 months I have been here started on time. Sometimes she would bring me into her office 2 minutes late, five minutes late, 10 minutes late, and most recently 15 minutes late. There would be no apology, and she would always have me leave at the normal time meaning I wasnt getting my full 40 minutes I pay for, ever. I didnt like this considering she is so stern on the patient not being late, but if she is, its okay. I also didnt feel like this therapy time provided me with much of any help. I guess doing 15 minutes of cardio a day is the solution to everything per Dr Mosley. Also, I just was given no tools and she almost never talked to me or said anything. My last appointment was last Thursday & I decided for it to be the last because of what I experienced. Dr. Mosley is not a lgbtq+ friendly therapist. Now I wouldnt go as far as saying the things she said to me were homophobic, but I would say they were uneducated, ignorant, and biphobic. Basically if you are apart of the lgbtq+ community she will box you into gay or straight there is no in between, which is an extremely non-progressive ignorant stance when it comes to sexuality. I did not feel safe in my space. And I found it funny that she never really talks to me but when I brought up my sexuality she wanted to say what she thought about it soooo badly. It was very biased & I felt judged. Im going to be seeking therapy else where; where I feel safe and not judged for being apart of the LGBTQ+ community.

Hi Sandy. Thanks for your review. My name is Jon Evans and I am one of the owners of Brain Wellness Institute. I would like to apologize for your experience. It is our expectations that providers are always making patients feel welcomed and supported, even if they have a different view on a particular topic as you mentioned. It is clear that was not your experience for which I am sorry. I will give you a call to discuss this as I would like to learn more about your experience. I truly hope you are able to find the care you are looking for as that is what is most important!

image After arriving at my 9 a.m. appointment, I was told that I didnt do my paperwork three days in advance (I was never told that on the phone when I made the appointment) and that they would reschedule me for the same day at 2p.m. Even though I was a little irritated, I respected their policy and rushed back at 2 p.m. after killing time on my day off work. They called me in to see a trainee therapist, and she called her boss to FaceTime me to "speak with me shortly." I was then told that because I didnt fill out the paper (my fault), they wouldnt be able to see me because shes so busy she didnt have time to review it (thats not my fault). I then shared how they didnt respect my time, and it is sensitive to put yourself out there and get help just to be rejected twice. After expressing my concern and lack of professionalism, they showed she kept discarding me and placing the blame on me. Please DO NOT COME HERE.

Hi Alexis,Thank you for your feedback. My name is Jon, and I am one of the owners of Brain Wellness Institute. First, I would like to apologize for your experience. I take great care to work with our team and the number one focus is on exceptional customer service. I can appreciate you putting yourself out there as I know that is a delicate and vulnerable position. I truly hope that you receive the care you are looking for even if it is outside of our practice. Our process regarding paperwork is that we must receive paperwork no later than the day before your appointment, so the provider has time to review the paperwork to help determine clinical fit. Our front team does the best we can to schedule patients with the correct providers based upon what they are told when they call in. Having said that, I have trained my front team to not ask many clinical questions about what a patient is experiencing as they are not therapists and this is outside their scope of work as front team members. That is the job of a provider. 99% of the time, patients are scheduled with an appropriate provider. However, one of the forms new patients complete is the intake form which asks a lot of detailed questions about what a patient is experiencing. This is the form providers review prior to an appointment. And it is at this point that a provider may make the decision that they are not the best clinical fit for a patient. This is in the best interest of the patient as providers are looking to serve patients in the area of their expertise and defer to other providers who have more expertise in an area when they do not. The other process for our paperwork is our reminder process. In addition to being told that paperwork needs to be turned in a day before an appointment, we send a message to all patients 3 days before an appointment and then make a call 1 day before the appointment if the paperwork is still outstanding. We inform patients that they are approaching the deadline of having their appointment rescheduled if we do not receive the paperwork. This has worked well for most patients who have not turned in paperwork as we realize life is busy and sometimes a reminder is what prompts people to remember to complete the paperwork. Having said all of this, if you would please allow me a few days to research what has happened in your particular situation, I would like to follow up on a call with you to discuss this in more detail.I apologize again for your experience, and I hope above all us that you are able to get the help you are looking for. Thanks Alexis,

image This place is an absolute joke and they should be ashamed of themselves. I called yesterday 1/26/23 to schedule an autism evaluation for my son. I gave them my sons insurance and they said the insurance team would get back to me within 72 hours, John who I spoke to in the morning got back to me later in the day and said they take my sons insurance and scheduled me right away for Wednesday 2/1/23. Fast forward to today 1/27/23 i am trying to fill out the intake paper work that was emailed to me and it was not working so I called the clinic and was instructed to come down and fill it out. I take my one hour lunch at work and when I'm 5 minutes away I get a call from John stating that the provider Dr. Davidson is no longer accepting new clients after scheduling me yesterday! I still show up to the clinic since I am only 5 minutes away to see if I can speak with someone about scheduling with a different doctor. The moment I walk in Julie and Franci were very un-inviting and just kept apologizing and did not offer any kind of solution to the problem! I requested to speak to a manager and was never able to talk face to face with one. Come to find out they never even accepted my sons insurance group after being told my John and the Insurance team that they did! They got my hopes up of my son finally being able to get evaluation and get his diagnosis. Clearly this clinic is incompetent and does not double check their work before scheduling a new client. This is very unprofessional and triggering considering how hard it is to even get an autism evaluation now a days. I did get a cal from John the owner and the conversation was meaningless and a waste of my time. Be careful with putting your trust into this institution that they will accept your insurance and then cancel on you days before the appointment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
