Ramada Costa Mesa/Newport Beach

Had some needed rest at this Ramada. Check-in was somewhat smooth. The lady was training? Getting tips from the Manager? She had a lovely personality. Note - The hotel is a short bike ride from the beach. TIP - Traffic can be heavy on Superior here. Careful turning left. Also, they prefer people to use the registration parking inside immediate left to keep the entrance open. The wallpaper inside the room has been peeling and showed a lot of repair. The TV system did not have HBO or premium movie channels working. The system also had odd numbering making navigation slow. No comp breakfast but a small caf onsite. There are free coffee pods with a small coffee maker in the room. Also a small refrigerator. The AC worked, however either would not cycle cool air comfortably or would run continuously. It was a window unit. AC unit aside, a comfortable room but quite a few fixes showing. Rooms: AC unit was not working in auto mode well. Dated wallpaper showing lots of repair. TV system not 100% working. Nearby activities: Beach close via bike. Ideal casual cruiser bike paths to piers and historic local beachfront stores. Safety: The main roads; Superior, Newport, 17th are quite busy watch out for auto traffic. Easier entry from beach side not the left off Superior. Caution the driveway apron is skinny. Walkability: Somewhat close shopping. A moderate walk to beach, bike is easier to use excellent bike/foot paths. Explore the peninsula if you have time! Food & drinks: DelTaco open 24H, Trader Joe's within walking, Von's more upscale Pavilions and drug stores a short car ride or easy walk. The local Super Pollo is casual chicken and a long time local favorite. Breakfast burritos anyone? Noteworthy details: Most staff pleasant. Use their registration parking inside immediate left. Still comfortable, close to beach and quick food by a short walk. A few dated items like the wallpaper. Still would recommend, relatively quiet on 1st floor.

In need of remodeling. The room was disappointing. The bathroom door and tile should be replaced. The graut and silicone appear to have been applied by a child.

Website says continental breakfast, NOPE! Lie! Its a restaurant that is over priced and few options. No microwave in our room. And who closes the pool at 9 pm ? Do Not stay here! Noteworthy details: Do not stay here!

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! I stayed at this hotel in town for a funeral. My laptop was stolen while I was staying here. Not only did I have numerous issues with the room that I notified FD about, the manager said I never notified them yet admitted in a email after I opened a case that I did in fact speak to him. I booked four free night stays and woke up yesterday a A CHARGE ON MY CARD for my whole stay, which I'm going to assume was retaliation for opening a customer care case. Crazy coincidence how when you check a guest out, you check them out and it releases the deposit. You actually have to go into the folio and charge their card, which was done. Keep in mind there are other Wyndham employees out there and we aren't done :) you can play chess, I'll play checkers.
