Gualala River Redwood Park

Like rolling into Endor! Amazing stay at this campground tucked into the woods, yet minutes away from the beach. Warm, friendly staff. Bathrooms and showers well stocked and maintained. Campsites are generous and separated by ferns, not fences! BONUS: cafe trailer ready to serve all your specialty coffees and bagels! Not cheap, but an unexpected treat. Draw backs are few. Sites near river are the only ones to get lots of daylight (if concerned about solar). Only water and electric but dumps are easy to access and bathrooms make it an non-issue for small tanks or tent campers. Read complaints about mosquitoes but we didnt really need much more than non-deet spray here and there (late May). Favorite place yet.

Just got back from GRR. This place was amazing. The staff were so nice and the campsites were clean. They had a movie night, a playground, horseshoes, and the river to swim or kayak. Very relaxing. The only thing I will say are the mosquitos are everywhere. Just make sure to bring repellent!

This is expensive! With taxes and such your bill for one night on a simple tent site is almost $90. Also they charge for hot water and internet (there's no cell phone coverage) and only two showers that I could find. Not happy.
