I truly believe after 24 years and 5 attorneys navigating through the California Family Law court system I of all people can say with complete conviction that BUNCHER FAMILY LAW IS ABSOLUTELY THE BEST!
From my first inquiry call to my most recent telephone call last week with Sven, it has been an amazing experience.
The professionalism the team brings to the table is top notch! But its not only this professionalism that sets them apart. Its the professionalism with that CARRYING TOUCH OF CONCERN and SINCERE INVESTMENT in their clients unfortunate situation.

In September of 2021 the unthinkable happened, I received a call from Childrens Hospital in Texas that my toddler had been airlifted to their facility with possible brain injury. My ex-wife had taken our son against court orders and without my knowledge or permission. Distraught one of my first calls was to Buncher Law. I was immediately assured that they would handle all the legal aspects and I should just worry about getting to Texas.
The team at Buncher went into action and the following day an emergency hearing took place remotely with me at the hospital in Texas, and Sven Buncher appearing locally. The team at Buncher did not miss a step, they assured that I had a hospital representative present for the hearing and witness to any court orders made. The hearing ensued and It did not take long for the Judge to order sole temporary physical and legal custody to me, allowing me the right to make all important medical decisions for my son and get him home to California.
In the days to follow, there was so much to tackle travel arrangements, finding appropriate follow up care for my son in California, dealing with medical leave from work etc . And amongst it all Sven Buncher and his team were there to offer continued support. The initial court hearing triggered several follow up hearings and much legal work to be done. I was able to focus my energy on getting my son healed and our life back together as the Buncher team focused on putting in place orders to modify child support, orders for a child custody evaluation to make determinations about my ex-wifes mental fitness and determine a plan to move us forward. It has been a long road to repair the damage created by some poor decisions my ex-wife has made. I just dont know how I would have made it through without the compassion and care showed by the Buncher team through this horrific experience.

Sven Buncher was hired by my daughter to represent her in a highly contentious divorce case. I participated in most of their phone calls, reviewed all emails, helping my daughter during this difficult time. The first sign of Svens incompetence was in the courthouse when waiting for a hearing with the judge. Instead of waiting for the hearing, Sven signed an agreement with the opposing counsel for temporary child and spousal support which was not only inadequate, he also didnt pay attention that the opposing counsel changed the start date from the agreed date. My daughter and granddaughter lost a whole month of child and spousal support because of his negligence. My daughters ex violated numerous ATROS (Automatic Temporary Restraining Orders) by using community funds to buy himself a house, canceling my daughters credit cards, and locking her out of their bank accounts. Despite our repeated requests, Sven made no attempts to freeze assets which is a standard procedure used to protect assets.
My daughter challenged the authenticity of her signatures on fraudulent prenuptial agreement documents. Sven damaged my daughters case beyond repair by signing a legal document agreeing to the prenuptial on my daughters behalf without her consent. This was not only unacceptable but also illegal.
Later Sven even admitted to this error when he was deposed after my daughter fired him for doing this behind her back. Left without a lawyer she had to represent herself until a new lawyer takes over the case.
Sven would write unnecessary long-winded, emotional charged emails and charge for them to rack up legal fees.
To summarize, Sven misses filing deadlines, forgets appointments, brushed my daughter and me off when we brought the facts and evidence forthright, signed legally binding contracts without consulting with us, and is totally ineffective in handling complex contentious divorce cases. Bottom line, he didnt care about my daughters case just his own personal agenda and financial gains.
